Yeah, sorry to be unclear, I was referring to initial notice. Last year, someone got in by email on a Sunday? Law-llawstudent2018 wrote:yeah, I remember reading the same thing, though I assume if they call they will also email

That's also how I read it. The situation seems analogous to 0Ls riding WLs and withdrawing from a school they've deposited to if they're admitted later.aharown wrote:The commitment form I got says this:
"I agree to inform all law schools to which I have been offered transfer admission that I decline their offers. Additionally, I will relinquish my place at the law school where I studied 1L year."
Technically, that leaves open not withdrawing your application from schools (Yale, Stanford) that have not yet decided. It only commits to withdrawal from the 1L school and the other waiting and open admits.

Technically that also says that you agree to inform Harvard (a school to which you have been offered admission) that you decline their offer.aharown wrote:The commitment form I got says this:

I'm fairly certain this is *not* ironclad, lol.

They just sent a reminder out about completing your financial aid work, and in the email said they'd reach out to people in a day or two regarding admissions. The email said for efficiency's sake, they were going to let everyone--admits and dings alike--know via email, with follow-up calls for admits.

Got the same email.
For anyone admitted at H and waiting on Y: I called H admissions and they said the form is due by end of business Thursday. Fingers crossed that Y gets out admits by then (by their email they should) to prevent us having to make awkward decisions.

I have not received any such email. But I did get a confirmation last week that my app had been received and was being processed. Anyone else not got an email yet? I'm kind of concerned that something is holding it up as my undergrad is infamous for screwing up things like Dean's Certifications.

At 11:25 PT I received an email from someone in financial aid congratulating me on my admission and attaching a financial aid award notification.
I have not received any phone call or email telling me directly that I was admitted.

I also got an email from financial aid congratulating me on being accepted, but I haven't heard anything from admissions. I'm waiting for some kind of confirmation before I celebrate.

Does anyone know any tricks to getting through to admissions on the phone? I always get a recorded message that says we must be on the phone and then it auto-hangs-up.

Both times that I've called them the last couple of weeks they've answered after like 2-3 rings. I called the general number ending in 4995.Joscellin wrote:Does anyone know any tricks to getting through to admissions on the phone? Heh, I was using the 4992 number from the main website and hitting 1 for admissions. Thanks for correcting me!ilikechocolate wrote:Both times that I've called them the last couple of weeks they've answered after like 2-3 rings. Any actual decisions released?
It turns out the financial aid awards were mistakenly sent out, and Yale hadn't finalized admissions decisions yet. They are concurrently preparing the award packages in order to have them ready to send out in the event a candidate is admitted.

How did you find that out? In any case, I'm still assuming those admits were legit. I just hope that wasn't the totality of the admits.

An email went out saying the financial aid announcements were in error and that our admissions status is still pending. I'm not sure if that went out to all applicants or only the people who got the financial aid email.NimChimpsky wrote:How did you find that out? I truly, sincerely hope you get in, because that would be really shitty to have that pulled back from you like that.im_hot_soup wrote:An email went out saying the financial aid announcements were in error and that our admissions status is still pending. Holy Shit. Just got an admittance email from Craig Janecek. Pretty lost for words right now.
