UC Berkeley Transfer Thread 2015 Forum

A forum for those current students who are or may be transferring from one school to another. Post any questions, advice, or other transfer related comments here.

Anonymous Posting

Anonymous posting is only available to the creator of each thread. The anonymous posting feature is intended to permit the solicitation of anonymous advice regarding the transfer application process, chances of being accepted, etc. Unacceptable uses include: testing the feature, questions which are clearly fake or hypothetical in nature, harassing other users, etc. Posters should also read and understand the announcements posted at the top of the Transfers forum prior to using the anonymous feature.

Failure to follow these rules will get you outed, warned, or banned.

Anyone hear back from financial aid yet? They said they would start giving out awards today. I would love to see my financial package before making a decision.

Accepted Berkeley. I can't argue with free law school from a T10 that is also in the area where I intend to practice.

GI bill maybe?
GI Bill! It's a public school so the GI Bill covers all of tuition. The same cannot be said for private schools.

How damning would it be to miss EIW at Berkeley if I do not want to go into the public sector? Can any past transfers comment on successfully finding a job through other means?

I'm at work in DC until Aug 7, which means that I miss EIW.

Any past transfers know the probability of getting graduate housing? If so, when can you expect to find if selected.

Dang. I haven't either. But I did ask for an extension. I've actually emailed them a couple times and.have not received a response so who knows what's going on.

I received my financial aid package right after I sent in a request for deadline extension.

Finally heard from aid and they are giving me no money. Don't have a clue why but definitey sours the whole thing.

I'm going to Berkeley for sure. Stats are top 10%, T1 (40-50), 3.8 gpa.

Yeah, I'm able to login to b-line and all of the EIW employers are located under the OCI tab. There's also a list of them linked on the 2015 EIW page of the CDO area of Berkeley's website.
