Re: Duke Law Transfer
So Duke doesn't care if certain students are at a disadvantage due to their school's policy of when to release class rank?
hmmm ... something smells fishy ... and chippy ... fish and chipsy ...

Re: Duke Law Transfer
I'm confused, didn't you post your class rank in your thread? Sounds like ur school released rankings much earlier than mine did lol..Did you just request the form late? or did your school just take its time sending the paperwork to Duke?heavoldgotjuice wrote:So Duke doesn't care if certain students are at a disadvantage due to their school's policy of when to release class rank?

Either way, i don't think Duke (or any school) really cares about "fairness" too much for this stuff...they need to evaluate apps and send out decisions in like a 1 month period, they're not going to adjust the timeline to accommodate certain schools

Re: Duke Law Transfer
to clear confusion,
i was ranked top 2% after first semester (school released rank within 2 weeks of exams).
after second semester, i booked all the classes, so i was assuming my rank increased, which was verified by the fact that it did increase to top 1% once my school released rankings on july 2nd.

Re: Duke Law Transfer
can someone that has been accepted inquire about the language in the deposit/acceptance form? it looks like its intended to be binding, but when read quite literally, it looks like we only have to withdraw from schools that weve "already been accepted to". Doesnt say we have to withdraw all apps. I really want to hear back from CCN before I commit to Duke.

just had interview.. they said that they want to make all their admit decisions by tomorrow. Not sure how true that is so take with grain of salt. Really like the guy though, did an excellent job selling the school

Don't think it applies to u if ur file isn't even complete. He mentioned that the complete-processing has been slower than usual lately. His comment was in reference to applications that are currently being reviewed, not those that have yet to be processedheavoldgotjuice wrote:FrostedMiniWheats wrote:just had interview.. they said that they want to make all their admit decisions by tomorrow. 6.
After April 1, except under binding early decision plans, every applicant should be free to accept a new offer from a law school even though a scholarship has been accepted, a deposit has been paid, or a commitment has been made to another school. To provide applicants with an uncoerced choice among various law schools, no excessive nonrefundable deposit should be required solely to maintain a place in the class.
