Ding via snail mail. Wish they didn't hold out for so long

Ya they've had mine for about two weeks also and I've yet to hear anything. Status checker just says complete. Just gimme a rejection and lets call it a day Michigan. I'm tired of waiting to know.

I'm holding out hope that I at least made it to the secondary pile of people to call after they get a few withdraws from people with better offers. I know initial seat deposits are due and the law review write-on competitions for transfers start Thursday the 18th. Does anyone know when the early OCI deadline is? I wouldn't mind catching up with the write-on, but I'd hate to miss out on OCI. I'm assuming since the website says they accept applications up until July 21st, they would have some back-up system for late transfer admits.

No idea about the early OCI deadline. Honestly, I'm not even too worried about missing competitions but I'd hate to miss out on OCI (pretty much the only reason to transfer IMO). I'm on the regular decision plan according to the status checker so this is the only thing giving me hope.

Bad idea to email them and say "Hey, I have seat deposits due at other places soon. You're my #1 choice however, any chance I could find out sooner rather than later?"

I've heard people go both ways on this. I can't see it making a positive difference, though. If the first wave of admits have until the 18th to deposit, and the final admissions deadline on the 21st, I'd think they aren't going to accept any more transfers until these dates pass.

I called earlier today and they told me that they prefer that you email them about your deadlines. I emailed them and they let me know that they had mailed out my ding letter last Friday. I don't think they count it against you.

So they mailed out dings on Friday? Well. if I check the mail today and see a letter from Michigan, I am just going to write "return to sender" on it and call a few days later asking where they are at on my application.

Just got an acceptance call this afternoon. So there still is some hope for the rest of you!

Yeah they asked for a deposit by then. Means I'll have a short time to make a decision

I bet it must have been tough. Good luck at Columbia and the rest. I know I'm still in completed status so I'm hoping to make the second round picks. Anyone else out there still without a ding?

I was still in the "completed" status today so I inquired about my application via email. They responded later on with a ding. Pretty bummed as this was my only transfer option. Oh well...guess I'll make the best of what I've got. Good luck to anyone else who might make the last-minute cut!

For anyone who was dinged, was the change from "Complete" reflected shortly after receiving the letter or is still showing the "Complete" status?
