until you receive word one way of the other, I would think it is still under consideration. I recall reading somewhere (maybe even this thread) that they send them out in separate batches.udonisandtrinity wrote:I wasn't notified. Does this mean, I'm out?

That's hilarious. I asked them for an extension, and they gave me until the 11th.drmguy wrote:July 11grok123 wrote:drmguy wrote:Just admitteddrmguy wrote:Under review

Yeah, I'm wondering if there was a second batch that went out today considering that someone above was accepted...heeloftar wrote:I haven't seen anyone post that they got dinged, so I'd imagine that there's a whole gob of us waiting for that thin envelope.etonses wrote:Anyone still waiting? I got an acceptance today too! Yahoo!
3.83 Top 30 in CA.
Any idea on what to do with other school apps out there? I still have a long shot app out there to Harvard. Should I withdraw the app with an acceptance? I most certainly won't hear from them before July 11th. What's most professional here?

Re: Transfer to Berkeley waiting thread 2012
Yes, can someone tell me about the procedure for accepting an early offer?
I am very interested in Cal and was fortunate to be accepted, but I have strong personal reasons to be waiting out an offer on the East Coast that will not come before my deadline for acceptance. Is it an ethical violation to accept and later withdraw? What about writing on/signing up for OCI? Any past exp. or current thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The exact text from the offer is as follows if its at all helpful: "Since integrity, candor, and keeping one's word are characteristics vital in your chosen profession, I will indicate my trust in you by not requiring a deposit at any time."

Does anyone have info on how transfers have done (generally) at Berkeley OCI?

Very interested in this. Boalt also has that unorthodox OCI system where students, not employers, dictate who is interviewed. Maybe that helps.yabuddy wrote:Does anyone have info on how transfers have done (generally) at Berkeley OCI?
I'm curious when you all plan on looking at housing, and where the best spots are? I'd love to live with another Boalt student or two if we can manage it.

Residency for Berkeley definitely makes a serious difference. Was rejected with your #'s last year from the same school, so that should feel great for youdrmguy wrote:Just admitteddrmguy wrote:Under review

I lived in Cali for 7 years, have LOTS of family there, and several berkeley (UG) alumni in the family--none of which I mentioned in my PS because I am a goddamn idiot. D'oh.

Transfers did amazing. Most cracked V50, many V20s. And 90% had BigLaw jobs after OCI. I think everyone ended up with a job by graduation from Class of 2012.

Waiting as of June 11th. Guess I am out? T2, 7/309 rank. 3.76 gpa. Ties and IP. O well, my school increased scholarship and I'm in at UCLA. Only Berkeley would make me transfer....transfer is too tough without assurance of top placement.

I thought you struck out during 2L OCI and got your job through 3L OCI?3L Student wrote:Transfers did amazing. Most cracked V50, many V20s. And 90% had BigLaw jobs after OCI. I think everyone ended up with a job by graduation from Class of 2012.
My understanding is that transfers are viewed in light of the school from which they transferred- if you were top 5% at your old school, and the firm would normally consider someone in the top 5% at your old school, then you have a shot at the firm. Transferring just offers you greater access to more firms through OCI, but it's not as though they ignore where you transferred from. Perhaps this isn't true?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
