The explanation is going to be tricky. I have to find a way to say "I want to make more money with my JD" without saying "I want to make more money with my JD."

Found out LSAC fee waivers don't automatically apply to this app like they do for GW, you have to contact the admissions office. Damn.

Considered applying, but after checking out law school transparency my TT looks pretty appealing considering my class rank. Think I'm holding off and applying to a handful of the T10.

Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
GULC received my app today. Now I'm just waiting on my school to stop messing around with my JD certification paper. I gave it to them a week ago and it hasn't been sent. I'm going to raise hell on Monday if it isn't gone.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited to have a real shot at T14 now. It's like making up for years of slacking with a semester of really hard work lol. Anyone else feel the same way?

Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
Do you think transfer schools take it into consideration if you school goes up in the rankings from where they are this year?
Or do you think they just use what rank your school is at right now?
Not that I think my school is going up significantly, just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the topic.
I assume that for RD decisions they do, but I dunno if ED is too early.
Also this thread is moving kinda slow lately so I figured I'd throw something out there.

I'm a little late, but think I can get everything in on time? No rec yet, but I'm meeting with a Prof today. It's going to be a tight squeeze to get everything in on time...
Oh, and do you guys know if we have to send final UG transcripts to LSAC? LSAC sent me an email today about that, I guess I sent my final one straight to the school for JD Admissions. GULC doesn't look like it even requires UG Transcripts from the App checklist, but maybe I'm missing something.

I feel exactly the same, 25 years of slacking and then one semester of trying hard may get me to the same place as working one's ass off for their entire life would. I'm slightly worried about getting in though, once there, I'm assuming a good portion of the class has never gotten a C before. That's so not the kind of academic record I've had my whole life, my UG transcript looked like a minefield. Just a little intimidating in that regard.canesfan1986 wrote:I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited to have a real shot at T14 now. That said, I'm fully expecting a rejection; I'll be pleased with a simple deferment to RD; I'd be ecstatic if I got accepted.

I mean, I guess you could, but it took my professor all of a day to write mine and mail it out. Then 3 days to get posted to my LSAC account.NYC Law wrote:Yeah but no LORs yet, and I heard you should give them a month to write them.

Eh I'll just tell them when the deadline is, the sooner the better, but take as much time as they need. Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
Sent my application in a few days ago, and the status is application received. I'm just waiting on my school to send the JD certification.
Question - has anyone's status gone to application complete? Will it go to complete once GULC receives that JD cert?
Just wondering so I dont bother my school to send that if its already been received and the status doesnt change.

Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
I'm thinking it takes some time to go complete. Based off of last year's thread, it takes about a week after they get the Cert for it to go complete. I had my JD Cert sent before I sent my app, so hopefully it won't be too much longer before it goes complete. However, last year no one heard from GULC until like April 20th or so. Even then, most everyone got deferments. Only those with top 5% or so from T1s got in and most of them backed out at RD and went to other schools.yabuddy wrote:Sent my application in a few days ago, and the status is application received. Does anyone think it's worth the time and application fee to apply from a T4? I'm in the top 2% (around 6 students). It's the highest percentile they give out so that's the most I know.
