Ahh, I see. So ED hold's should just consider themselves RDers in the context of that tweet?

Yes, we got lumped into RD (which released us from our ED contracts) when we got the deferral email. Also, notice the tweet said "ED transfers" and "RD transfer apps," implying one set crossed an application threshold that the second set has not.

^^ No, in my view "early [this] week" means Tuesday. If you mean Monday you say Monday; early sounds more like Tuesday to me. Just as you don't think of July 1 when you think about early July. But that's just my reading.

You are reading far too much into "early next week."

Damn, you're really neurotic.

I just don't think you give yourself that much wiggle room with a vague adjective like early if you're planning on Monday. Suppose you're working for a judge and you say you'll get her a memo by "early next week"; what are you trying to say there? 'Early' seems designed to leave the door open to Tuesday and even, just maybe, Wednesday.

Early next week most likely means: "We'll send out decisions when we finnish reviewing the applications, and we're close."

I think tray is reading too much into it but I also think that he is right about most of the news coming tomorrow. It seems like they still have a few more apps to read today. So there may be a few admits but I think D-Day will be tomorrow for most TLSers.

Maybe he is, but I bet he's right. I'd be shocked if decisions came out today. On the other hand, I'm really hoping they send out the confirmation emails to ED transfers today. I don't like uncertainties, no matter how minute.

Yeah, I'm not saying that "early" = "Tuesday," just that vagueness generally means later rather than sooner.

Ah I don't think you have to worry. I had a relatively rough semester with one grade that was actually bad. So I am a bit nervous about getting rescinded. :P

Well, as long as the GPA is really allowed to drop .2-.3, I'll be fine, but I had a pretty rough semester as well. Maybe after a coupla scrubs like us get in through ED they'll rethink the program for next year =). Hopefully we didn't ruin it for everyone!

I was never sure what they meant by that, and based on what others have said the drop might even have to be more drastic than that. I don't really want to talk about my particular situation right now, but I might when the dust settles. Considering ED prevents one from applying to other schools, it would be somewhat harsh and unfair for Chicago to have too exacting of standards (for example, I'd really like to transfer closer to home and my desired region--even to the point where I would have considered a lateral transfer to Illinois). It's their school, however, so they can be as hash as they want!

I don't think they'll rescind even if it's .2 to .3 overall

All I know is that they went from having their phone line go straight to a recording for the last three days or so (assuming my timing wasn't just horrible) to being back in the office.

No clue what this means but it is as much as I can give you to speculate from.

Oh i did not call to ask when decisions would be released. I had something else I needed to talk to them about. However, when i got my ED acceptance I was not informed by phone until after 4pm EST and got the e-mail after 5pm EST.

Anyways best of luck tray and hopefully they don't wait too long.
