Anxiety is killing me- I thought my stats would get me in for sure but now I'm pretty scared... Wishing I had applied to more schools

They only lost 2 transfers last year- I doubt that factors into the decision.

I have a deadline tomorrow and let them know of it so this wave may be for those who were either very competitive or had an upcoming deadline, like myself. My application literally went complete yesterday. So I would not fret!

They are losing more than 2 transfers this year. I'm not saying a hundred of you should bank on it as a possibility; I am saying it might impact a couple of you.

it's probably true that >100 NYU students were admitted to CLS as well, but the cross-admit matriculation data favors columbia so overwhelmingly that one may infer cuse's presumption

are you just injecting your opinion for the sake of white knighting cls or did you read my follow up where i admitted that cls > nyu everyday of the week and i was just snapping at cuse ?

ETA: also for anyone reading this considering transferring to one of these schools, as far as EIP/EIW is concerned (which I presume is why you would want to transfer in the first place?) there isn't much difference.

How do you know this?

I'll answer this for her/him: because I'm one of the people transferring out of CLS, and I am aware of at least two other people who are doing the same. There may be others as well. In addition, at least one person in the class of 2016 is leaving for non-transfer-related reasons.

I called and asked about decisions today- the guy asked me if my app was complete (never gave him my name/info) and I told him it went complete two days ago... He proceeded to tell me it was unlikely I would hear back today because there aw so many apps to go through... And to expect something early next week

This is torture

it seems unreasonable to think that Columbia's doors are (almost) shut only three days after their deadline. Thoughts?

it's not. last year they didnt do any acceptances after the 17th

also, they fuckign cleaned house yesterday pikcing up people from june completes to just a few days ago. and they accepted prob... 10 people on tls? i'd guess 8-12 . on top of the 5 others that's 13 - so even if CLS increasing size they prob at that point.

Am I out of the race if I haven't heard back? Went complete on July 15 (I.e. received a notification of it). In at UChicago but would like Columbia.

Top 30 school
Waitlisted first time around at CLS
Only top 20% though

The suspense is killing me.

Just deposited. The deposit deadline is July 23, so maybe there will be more movement then?
