Yup. I wanna breathe easy for now but it could very well still come today.FlanSolo wrote:Man, I have to say the expectation of an impending ding email is way worse than the anticipation of an acceptance. I'm sure I'll be joining you guys soon.grok123 wrote:Ding via email just now.

I also graduated UG with a 2.4, so I really hope that isn't the reason.

Another reason this probably is not the case is that transfer classes are probably littered with splitters anyway, so you'd really be hurting yourself to hold this against people.TatteredDignity wrote:I also graduated UG with a 2.4, so I really hope that isn't the reason.

Kind of cruel of them to make you go 3 days just to give you a ding email. They could have at least changed your status checker or something.

I'm trying to decide whether the other hopefuls in this thread just aren't online right now, or are biting their nails next to their computer and haven't been rejected yet. Seems like some of the T25, top 3%ish people haven't piped up yet.

Still here; hanging on like Stallone in Cliffhanger right before he drops his girlfriend to save himself.TatteredDignity wrote:I'm trying to decide whether the other hopefuls in this thread just aren't online right now, or are biting their nails next to their computer and haven't been rejected yet. Oh, I'm not at "positive" yet. I feel like this is the admissions equivalent of storming the beach at Normandy, and the dings we just saw were the unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on what happens later) souls who got shot while they were still on the boat.canesfan1986 wrote:No ding either. 60s #1. Re: Harvard 2012
I like to think a wave of rejections went out - people are less likely to report a rejection than an admission offer, and we had a number of reported dings. My *guess* would be that the remaining applicants are going to be in limbo until the July 18th deadline.FlanSolo wrote:Oh, I'm not at "positive" yet. Maybe they're saving the best ones for last, and we're all going to get full scholarships and stipends.

So, is it seriously going to come down to how many people decline at the deposit deadline? That # has to be less than 5, right? Unless Y takes like 10 of them.

Re: Harvard 2012
you never know. conceivably 20-24 could turn down H for YS, realistically I think that number might be more like 8-10 people, and add to that a couple applicants who may be weighing their final H financial aid offer with leaving their T20, for example, or T14s who may have been convinced by a Law Review offer to stay with their current school. I don't think it would be insane to predict another ten admissions or so.TatteredDignity wrote:So, is it seriously going to come down to how many people decline at the deposit deadline? Huh. Well, it seems like we have 10 worthy applicants here in this thread. Hopefully we get famed TLS boost.transferquestion123 wrote:you never know. conceivably 20-24 could turn down H for YS, realistically I think that number might be more like 8-10 people, and add to that a couple applicants who may be weighing their final H financial aid offer with leaving their T20, for example, or T14s who may have been convinced by a Law Review offer to stay with their current school.
