I understand it should be as much as possible, but I work full time (9-5). Would it be possible to go to work and do the write-on or should I take time off?
also interested in time commitment
I just finished the write on competition while working a 9-5. I started on the weekend and did as much as I could during that time. It was a little challenging just because after work if be pretty tired but you survive. Felt like it took more time for me than it normally takes for others just because it takes me a while to get into the swing of things.
I took the entire week to finish everything. Id get home from work at 5:30ish, relax for an hour or so and work until 9pm then eat and take a break and work again from 10pm till 11:30ish, go to sleep for work and repeated the next day for until it was due. Started on the weekend but felt like I wasn't very productive just because it took me the whole time just to get famiar with the material. Last night before it was due I spent the most time working on it.

Just got acceptance email. Submitted app on 6/15, I everything was checked off on 6/16, but it officially said complete on 6/17.
Does anyone know if they ever give scholarships/grant aid to transfer students?

They have me need-based aid but I was admitted during EA. Generally the answer is no, but apply for need aid and you may get it

Nebby what are the income requirements for need based aid usually? Do you have any estimates? I have no income but parents don't make much and only my dad works. Did they give a good amount at all? Was looking into this but never made time to sit and fill out the forms since I would need to have my parents tax info ready.

Do they have rolling admissions? Or do they just send the acceptance email to everyone on the same day

My mom's income was 60k. I think the limit is 100k but that's just an educated guess
They gave me like 28k/year

Was that a 28k grant or a loan? My mom's income is also about $60k.

You have to report both parents. I only have one parent so that's why I mentioned my mom only.

Also, their need based aid is at their discretion. Do not bank on getting any. During my cycle, I was admitted to GULC EA and applied for financial aid in April and recieved the award in April. Getting this aid is not guaranteed, as many others (particularly RD applicants) get no aid even if they qualify. But it's still worth applying, just in case.

Thanks for clarifying. I also only have one parent so hopefully I will be awarded a similar amount.

I applied EA and was deferred in April. Completed my application on the 14th and have still not heard yet. I'm also worried that I am waitlisted since I have not heard back yet, but then again it doesnt seem like that many people have heard yet. Definitely seems like they submit acceptances in bulks.

I would not worry. Those of us that got acceptances yesterday have a deadline of July 1st to either submit a deposit or withdraw, so I anticipate that many more spots will open up until then as people withdraw and they will be able to send more offers.
