Vandy's website indicates you need to have a "compelling reason" to be in Nashville to transfer there.thexfactor wrote:add NW and vandy. They love WE.Headybrah wrote:45-40 ranked school

Little worried Im just outside top 10% and not sure what kind of hard cut-off that is. This site leads me to believe its pretty stringent but logic sayeth it is not so much

Re: What are your chances?
Probably a decent shot at GULC, particularly later in the summer once some kids get into better schools and withdraw, but below top 10%, you probably don't have a good chance at PBM. The problem with BC and BU is that they don't have larger transfer classes.Headybrah wrote:any idea of shot at BC BU Georgetown, penn, berk or Mich?keg411 wrote:Vandy's website indicates you need to have a "compelling reason" to be in Nashville to transfer there.thexfactor wrote:add NW and vandy. Re: What are your chances?
I'm currently at Michigan State COL ranked #95. Right now I have a 4.0 GPA and I'm just waiting on one last 2 Credit Class grade to come in. I have 4 JP awards (booked Civ Pro I, Contracts I, Property, and Contracts II) and was ranked #1 last semester. Hopefully I'll still be #1 after this semester.
I'm focusing mostly on getting into Michigan so what do you think my chances are there. Furthermore, where else do you think I should aim at.
I'd like BigLaw in the end run (for like 4 years before it steals my soul), not too excited to work in the NY market but I'd do it if need be. I'm more interested in working in Chicago or Boston.
Let me know if I left anything out.

Re: What are your chances?
school in the 90s west coast thinking about moving back the NY
not all of the numbers are in but its looking like a 3.45 top 15%
thinking about:
Fordham
Brooklyn (is the jump worth giving up $)
cornell
On another note I am currently not getting any $ from the school what kind of help can I reasonably expect negotiating for?
Thanks

Re: What are your chances?
Some schools play ball with negotiating scholarships...others dont. Top 15% is a no go at Cornell. You have a good shot at Fordham and should be a lock at Brooklyn. Fordham doesnt let transfers do early interview week (as far as Ive read on this forum), so thats something to consider.slickwilly wrote:school in the 90s west coast thinking about moving back the NY

Re: What are your chances?
Stats:
Lower T1
Ranked top 3% first semester with 3.9X
Slight GPA increase after second semester (waiting on one more grade)
Good letters of rec
Applying to:
NYU
Columbia
Penn
Anywhere else I should be applying? I understand people say to apply early, but what is more important: applying early or going complete early? I plan on reusing my two letters of rec so I should be able to go complete fairly quickly, I hope I am not already at a disadvantage. I will have my personal statement for NYU and Columbia done this week and will work on the Penn essays this weekend.
Thank you.

Thank you.

Re: What are your chances?
Hello all... I made a new username to post this question because it was too obvious who I was with my other one but just got my grades back.... ended up with a cum. gpa of 3.52 that places me between 8-13% percentile... in a week I will get my exact rank. School is lower 80s
Georgetown
Fordam
GW
UCLA
Emory
Any suggestions on other schools to shoot an application too? Obviously am hoping for Georgetown, I think that would be a pretty big reach though. Thoughts?
Thanks so much!

Overall 3.88 (on a 3.0-3.19 curve)
no official rank yet but probably top 3%, possibly top 2%
First semester - 2 Cali awards
UVA undergrad, but shitty LSAT/GPA (does that matter for H?)
1 year of interesting WE in a foreign culture
solid PS and LORs from two profs w/Cali awards
Chances at:
H: you'd need to be #1 for a 50/50 shot
CLS: 55%
NYU: 55%
Penn: 60%
UVA: you'll need significant VA ties to be considered. 50%
GULC (deferred EA): don't bother
Should I add Berkley and UCLA? Don't have any real connections to the west coast, but it's pretty nice out there!
Also, I don't have any significant ties to VA, but did go to UVA undergrad as an out-of-stater (pretty freaking hard to get in). Does that count or create a slight bump?
just got ranking...... 3/349! holy shit! top 1%! please tell me its at least worth the app fee for H...

Re: What are your chances?
I ended up ranked #8 at a top 50 school, puts me just outside the top 3% (I'm in the top 3.25%). I also have 3 CALI awards and will certainly be invited onto Law Review.
As I mentioned a couple pages ago, I've already applied to a few other schools, but do I have a realistic shot at Harvard, or should I save my $?

Don't have all my grades back yet, but GPA will be between 3.8 - 3.9 (top 6-7% most likely). Any shot at CCN?

Well, make that 3.9+ barring a disaster, which is likely top 2-3%. Any shot at YHSCCN? School is ranked #35.mebeSajid wrote:T35:
