I sent an e-mail last Friday directly asking for an expedited review. That's what the woman on the phone told me to do if I had upcoming deadlines.

did they respond or confirm they received it

I haven't received a confirmation email or anything from them. They haven't always been speedy with emails though.

Waiting patiently. They responded to my email about an expedited decision. Said that they would do their best to meet my "deadline." I imagine they have to be releasing information soon. Today is the last day the app is open, right?

Good stuff. I sent an email, also. I didn't explicitly ask for an expedited decision, however. I was hoping that it would be inferred, but they said "thank you for the your continued interest" so maybe they missed that point.

However, you are right. Today is the day apps close. So the pool is limited and they should try to make decisions asap.

anybody know when the bidding period/deadline is for Columbia's OCI? I'm trying to figure out when they will likely have all the decisions rendered. sorry if this info has already been discussed in the forum somewhere

Assuming last year's decision timeline is in any way an indication of this year's (which it so far seems to be), if you don't get in by the end of this week, it's going to be a ding.

i think the deadline for those accepted in the first "round" is tomorrow, 7/16.

also, have only two people on tls reported an acceptance so far?

There are only three admitted students on the FB group thus far. Part of me thinks the first round was really small.

what do you mean by "rounds"? are 2nd rounders only admitted after 1st rounders turn down CLS? Or are the rounds just semi-arbitrary groups of applications that get reviewed at different times?

both CN and I use it as "round of admissions" meaning just on the day people were admitted. Usually it's grouped. Look at page 10 I think of this thread I show last years "rounds". However, "round 1" is usually bigger. However, this year "round 1" was only 3 people - very small.

It could be that the next "round" happens after "round 1" turns down/accepts their offer and CLS better evaluates their class - however, I don't think they have even filled their class yet with the amount of offers in "round 1" so "round 2" could come before "round 1" accepts or not.
