Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
How am I supposed to make a deposit by 7/16 if I haven't even had my decision rendered yet..? 1 business day is not realistic.
This leads me to think that they are pretty much done admitting people, but they want to hold onto some people to fill any unfilled spot after the deposit deadline passes. An unofficial waitlist of sorts.

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
In years past I believe they have had multiple deposit deadlines... Is that not the case anymore?

Makes sense. I'll try to not give up hope so quickly.

Yeah, their deposit deadline is "One week after you're admitted."
Their materials say "Your deposit deadline is due by the day expressed in your admission email" or something like that

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
I think everyone's deposit deadline might be different. For what it's worth, I just called and explained my situation. They were super nice about it and gave me a few days extension. They told me that the bidding for transfers ends on the 25th, and they want everyone confirmed several days before then so we can do interviews (makes sense). It seems that gives them time to release a few more decisions.

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
Ditto....was UR 7/3-->7/9, just got a ding e-mail...sucksss, oh well...all my eggs are in the NYU/Columbia basket now! (with a few rolling around unsure of whether they should be placed in the Gtown one as well, where I have 72 minutes to figure out if I want to blow $800 on a chance at the better schools
T30, about top 3-4%....for whatever it's worth (probably nothing), I wrote an e-mail asking that if possible I'd appreciate a decision today so I could let other schools with deadlines know. It was a brief, incredibly gracious, kind, and soft e-mail so I don't thinkkkk it hurt me, but just in case they felt pressured to make a decision now whereas they otherwise would've just sat on my app for a few more weeks and compared it with others, I suppose I wouldn't recommend doing the same thing, since at the very least, it certainly did not help.

If you got dinged with those #'s, I'm definitely getting dinged.
Best of luck to you. If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure that $800 loss will be pretty easy to swallow if you get into Columbia/NYU (and can go all models and bottles).

You deserve to be dinged for the first part of that statement.shock259 wrote:How am I supposed to make a deposit by 7/16 if I haven't even had my decision rendered yet..? 1 business day is not realistic.

Wow, that's seriously awesome. #1. I agree that it would be nice to hear something. Today is one of the deposit deadlines, so I'm hoping for some movement...good luck!canesfan1986 wrote:60s school, 3.94 (1/4xx). Thank you! I'm hopeful, but that dwindles with each passing day. Congrats on all your admits! What's your top choice so far, if you have one?forestgirl wrote:Canesfan, I feel like you HAVE to get in today with those numbers. Pulling for you.canesfan1986 wrote:

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
My only admit so far is Penn, so I guess that's my choice right now! I'm waiting on CLS and NYU, very long shots H/Y. No dings yet (knock on wood). CLS is pretty much my dream school so I'm hoping for some good news today. Then I'll withdraw from Penn and make some room. =)canesfan1986 wrote:Thank you! Haha aren't we all? Isn't noon when the proverbial witching hour begins for schools? Maybe CLS will join in the party. They are rather late this year, considering last year July 13 was a huge admit day and all we had was like three TLS people accepted.forestgirl wrote:My only admit so far is Penn, so I guess that's my choice right now! I really need to hear in the next day or so. I'm going to call near the end of today if I don't get any word by then.
When does OCI start for Penn? I only see the 2011 date on the website.

As someone else mentioned, I contacted them and was swiftly dinged. Not worth it.shock259 wrote:I really need to hear in the next day or so. I'm going to call near the end of today if I don't get any word by then.

Why don't you call them back and raise hell? They can't deny you twice, right? lolTFR wrote:As someone else mentioned, I contacted them and was swiftly dinged.
