It's said the same thing for almost a month now, as I said earlier. So yeah, that doesn't really help. The question is how do I get them to tell me that they have my undergrad dean's cert (which isn't listed on the checker).jjkhicks wrote:Keep checking your My Columbia account. Mine shows a list of all required documents and everything is checked off. A few people on this board have had their file go complete with some boxes unchecked though. Not sure if that helps. Good luck!Xferr wrote:I called them today about my "completion pending." They said just sit tight until I get an email telling me that they're missing stuff. How did you guys get them to tell you what they had in the file? The guy I talked to wouldn't budge.
Columbia is the one stressing me out the most. I can't tell if it's because I've figured out it's my (realistic - lol H/S) top choice or because I can't tell if they're even looking at my app yet. Maybe both.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Email them. I emailed them about mine and they emailed me back to confirm they had received it. It never got checked, but my application went complete. I don't think the status checker is automated, so if an application is ready to go, whoever inputs information to the status checker may just check complete instead of checking every box then checking complete. I'd trust what they say in a response to your email over the status checker.Xferr wrote:The question is how do I get them to tell me that they have my undergrad dean's cert (which isn't listed on the checker).

Called again this morning to ask what's going on with my application. They said it's "processing" but *speculation*, things sound a little chaotic over there.
Kind of scary that Aug. 7th is orientation and EIP shortly after. Going to submit my stuff to NYU today and deal with CLS if I get in later.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Just in case this clears up anything for anybody:
I received an e-mail from CLS that my application was "complete" about 2-3 weeks ago. To this day, though, my online checker does *not* have transcript or dean's cert boxes checked. However, below that, it does say that my application is complete.
Not sure if you guys have yet to receive the 'complete' e-mail from CLS or if your status doesn't say 'complete' at the bottom or what, but if it's either of the two things, I would just call and ask. Can't hurt.

Man, the radio silence from NYU and CLS is deafening. What do we think, Manhattan-wide power outage? Are people getting in and not posting?

Is the "complete" e-mail the last status update? On the checker, it says I'm complete and will be reviewed in order, yadda yadda...has anyone had a new message on the checker when they went under review, or is the last thing we hear before a decision that we're in line for review?

That's all I've got and I think people have said that's the last of it.

I believe that's the last of it, my status went complete and hasn't changed, even after I was accepted.gdizz01 wrote:Is the "complete" e-mail the last status update? This happened Monday night after the last wave of admissions, so it may be part of the reason for the slowdown. . .casedown wrote:Man, the radio silence from NYU and CLS is deafening. What do we think, Manhattan-wide power outage? Are people getting in and not posting?

Has anybody who's been accepted to Columbia been able to access Lawnet? I have been unable to register for it through the transfer students' portal.

Yes, I submitted my deposit Monday night. I couldn't register for that or find my "uni" # but both are working now. It might take a day or two to get into the system.trbrny wrote:Has anybody who's been accepted to Columbia been able to access Lawnet? Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
I have been stuck at "Complete Pending" for the last 2.5 weeks. The dean's certification from my undergrad was the hold up, though I know it arrived last week.
My guess is that it will go straight from "Complete Pending" to a decision. I doubt CLS will bother changing it to "Complete" and then rendering a decision. Who really knows though...

Did they tell you that they didn't receive the dean's cert? Just admitted. Wow. Can't believe it. Was all set to go to Penn and now this. Almost certainly going Columbia. Any past transfers have anything they want to say about what they found once they got to school?
P.S. NYC native.

Ajax - No they did not tell me that they received it, but my undergrad confirmed that they mailed it. I probably should have followed up with CLS, but I decided (foolishly) to trust the system.ajaxconstructions wrote: Did they tell you that they didn't receive the dean's cert? I'm here as well. It kinda seems like they are just doing decisions by ones and twos. Odd and excruciating.lockiller wrote:waitlisted by Columbia in the year before. Is Columbia doing yield protection this year?

I'm pretty shocked that I got in. 3.73 (top 7%), LR at 60s school. Absolutely had no shot to get in as 0L. (LSAT was in the 150s).casedown wrote:I'm here as well. Really good work experience in NYC really clinched it for me, I think. Anyway, super excited and shows what can happen if you work your butt off during 1L and a little bit of luck. Good luck to everyone else. I'll be withdrawing from Penn & Michigan tonight/tomorrow morning.

If you haven't already guessed, I was a 2011 CLS transfer (rising 3L). Feel free to PM with any and all questions/comments/concerns.
Congrats again. I look forward to everyone joining us in the fall!
