Thank you, those who replied. Pattern (so far) for updated complete dates:
Submit/complete date irrelevant; names irrelevant
Low T1 to high T2 schools
High GPA's/Ranks (top 1-10%; inversely related to school rank)

Class Rank: T5%
GPA: 3.8x
I also emailed them a week or two ago with an updated resume, received confirmation email from corey, but this did not affect my Application Complete date, which has remained 2/28. --> so maybe this theory can be thrown out?

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Seems like it has to do with GPA and school rank...the combo of the both...
Even though my app was submitted on 2/1 and complete on 2/8, I probably won't get a decision until after these guys get theirs...
I'm hoping for a deferral at this point...lol

I emailed an updated resume recently (i think last week sometime), received an email that said my file had been updated and my application is still complete as of 3/18.

this is definitely looking like top 5% for T1's, top 1% for T2-4 are getting updated today...my guess is you're a presumed accepted who gets deferred if something is ugly on your app.

How many unique posters do we have in this thread now? Is there an easy way of checking this? I'm just curious the number of TLSers that bothered to post

No update... Top 10% at T50
Sent updated resume so it definitely isn't related to that.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
yeah it sounds like auto-admits are the ones who changed status today. but last year they went to "decision rendered" while the deferrals stayed at "under review." in any event, i would expect that most people who had their date changed today will be getting email/snail mail updates later this week with acceptances.
as for the rest of us, there's still hope. IIRC from last years thread, acceptances went out for another week or two. also the general rule was that T5% from T1s + T1% from T2-4 are auto-admits, whereas T10% from T2s were deferrals. everything in between is sort of a guessing game.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
did it seem like 10%/T2ers got in over the summer, or was there some amount of spring semester GPA boost that pushed applicants over the admit-edge?
sorry if i'm assuming too much in board member type-A theorizing insanity, but something tells me I'm not...

Just wondering I applied to just PT are all the changes for just FT or PT applications?
I am trying to find a glimmer of hope here

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
I would encourage everyone to chill, this is the VERY first wave of action, and it typically applies only to auto-admits. there are other admits who get in EA, and there are LOTS more who get deferred but get accepted in June/July.
As for PT/FT, i seem to remember PT people at lower T2-4 having trouble getting into FT. Making the jump from PT to FT requires a bit more. If you are PT and get deferred and REALLY want to go to GULC, i would encourage you to contact the office and request to be considered for PT as well.
As for T10%ers at T2+ schools, it is sort of a guessing game. I don't recall if the people who were eventually accepted upped their grades a bit. This is why transfer admissions are referred to as a 'black box' - there are more borderlne-qualified applicants than they can accept, and it is hard to discern any rhyme or reason to those who are eventually accepted or ultimately rejected.

My guess would be that these date changes don't mean anything and GULC is just getting ready to put them all under review. From the thread last year the first indicator was people who applied to both PT and FT were changed to one or the other.
