I counted 16 reported acceptances on TLS. So long as we haven't been officially dinged, there's still hope, but obviously, our chances of getting accepted are pretty poor at this point.
Wow my guess is pretty good then. Yeah I mean what that guy above said about him calling and them planning to make more offers is promising, but I think the odds have sailed, especially if you got passed over. Those who applied later and werent UR as long may have a better chance. WHo knows, though.

Yeah, your guess was spot on. I hope they just haven't gotten to my application yet, but I sort of doubt it.

Made an account so as to not be a lurker. Haven't heard anything yet. I am very passionate about certain aspects of the law and come from a very diverse background. I hope it counts for something, but we shall see.

Best of luck, everyone.

Also, have been under review since 6/25, and applied about 2 weeks prior to that.

Do we think more decisions before Friday or only after they hear back from those admitted?

monday. unless everyone replies to the Friday deadline by tomorrow, which couldn't be advantageous to them.

i'd guess Monday as well. But how to reconcile that w/ what they told that person yesterday "decisions in a couple of days".

a couple is 2

i expect more from HLS, but they may not have meant much by it. also, following the "couple of days" line would arrive at a wave of decisions on thursday. seems improbable

I would guess they give out more admits on Monday after they hear back from everyone tomorrow.

EIP bidding starts July 18. That would give the next round of admits the same number of days to decide (5) and have the transfer students settled by the start of bidding.

i agree monday is the best day and thursday makes no sense. MAYBE friday is what she meant by " a couple of days".

All this speculation is definitely logical, but it is not remotely supported by Harvard's recent history with admissions.

Last year, it appears that acceptances all came out on the same day, and then dings came two days after acceptances (clearly not enough time to gauge yield). In 2012, they released a second wave of admits just two business days after the first wave (Friday and Tuesday). Again, not enough time to gauge yield. Dings came just 3 days after the second wave.

I think this dispels the notion that Harvard admits one group, waits to see how they respond, and then offers admission to another group. It's possible that a few borderline applicants effectively get waitlisted, but I think the vast majority of Harvard's decisions are made before any calculations of yield. Regardless, some of us should be hearing back pretty soon.

I didn't know this. Makes sense. Also, their transfer class size varies so much and is big enough to suggest that gauging yield is unimportant.

Do we know when on Friday the acceptances are due? I'm just hoping to hear back from Stanford before I have to choose (and also make my decision as to whether I'd rather stay at UF or go to Harvard at all)

Based on past years, and recent posts on the SLS waiting thread, it looks veerrrry unlikely that Stanford will put out decisions any time sooner than next week. And it might not even be until the following week.

I got expedited at Stanford because I told them about the deadline, so hopefully they'll still get back to me in time.

Schools will occasionally do expedited reviews if there are pressing deadlines.

define "pressing"

and when did this become a thing? like where did people get the idea to ask for that

It's been a thing forever. People usually ask when they have pending deadlines. Stanford for instance notoriously releases their stuff later, so kids who have been accepted into Boalt, but still have an app at SLS and have a $$$ deposit deadline looming at Boalt, will ask for SLS to expedite their decision. Same scenario at other places as well.

No decisions this week. Prob next week for acceptances/dings if not the next.
