Re: George Washington Early Action Waiting Thread
Hey GW friends, does anyone know more about how the OCI process works at the school? Every school is a bit different... My current school has an interesting OCI process/ rules...
For GW when do interviews actually start? Do you have to be on campus by a certain time? I was thinking about going out of the country in August and just don't want to risk missing any important dates... Let me know if you have any specific information regarding the OCI process at GW.
Thanks and again, good luck to all with current classes/ waiting on news. This semester is so stressful!

quick question, how did FSU accept you in the middle of the semester. They told me they only accept after they have a full years set of grades. How did you get in without getting second semester grades?

I forgive them. It's their first year doing EA and they probably got a slew of apps; having worked in a large university's financial aid department so I know how easy it is to get overwhelmed when stuff starts flooding in.TTRansfer wrote:Hah, I know. Makes me think they are really up on their game.

Anyone who doesn't have the packet or lost it or something:
Address for the admitted students is: http://ssl.law.gwu.edu/Admit
Username is: LSAT Account # (i.e. L5555555) with the L included
And then your birthday for the next thing. You actually make the password yourself on the site.

Any action? Or we really going to have to pony up $1000 dollars in 24 hours for the seat deposit if we're accepted at the end of the week? The seat deposit is due the 30th right?

Correct. The 30th. I really wish they had an online method for payment.TNFSkier16 wrote:Any action? Or we really going to have to pony up $1000 dollars in 24 hours for the seat deposit if we're accepted at the end of the week? The seat deposit is due the 30th right?

Yeah I could do credit card as well. just not cash. For some reason chase has decided that I can have a 15000 limit while in law school but when i was working and making 50k I could only get a 7000 limit. Funny how that works...

For people who haven't heard back, does anyone know what the deal is? The office told me we'd hear by last Friday, then we didn't and then they told me Monday

Spoke to someone in admissions today just before the close of business. She apologized that decision emails didn't go out today. They would have, but the director was out sick. She said we should be expecting an email tomorrow.terpfan12 wrote:For people who haven't heard back, does anyone know what the deal is? Does anyone know if the deposit is due in their office on April 30th or merely postmarked by April 30th?

No one will probably get a reply until after the 30th deadline. Why would they let new people in until they know that people will not be taking the offer already given to them. And now with Georgetown waiting you will probably need to wait a bit longer... most of us will give the deposit in and wait out Georgetown. Not to sound harsh but don't want people to waste time so giving you guys the facts.

Same. Not really sure I will be going, but I will be sending in my money to hold a spot. Need to talk this over with my SA firm this summer and make sure they know that I am not trying to ditch them. I just want to have post-hire lateral options. I think a lot of law students don't think past the first job. A shit ton of lawyers transfer in and out of firms all the time and unfortunately I would be completely region locked at my current school.

Yep, mailing out my deposit tomorrow. Though, if my grades improve this semester, I'll be painting the T14 with applications. But I am glad to have a seat at GW saved and am looking forward to Fall.HappyTransfer2012 wrote:Sending my $$$ into GW baby! For those of us that end up matriculating...
