Ha, maybe. But like last year there were two big days of admissions. So that seems to have remained constant.

Re: Harvard 2012
Does anyone know anything about secondary journals? I didn't even think about transferring until after the law review competition. Is it still possible to get on a random secondary?

They save spots. Transfers get to circumvent the lottery system. The registrar will have a meeting about it at some point.KindleNexusfan wrote:Also, for 2011 transfers, I know the first question is EIP. However, I am also wondering about course selection for the fall semester. When/how do we do that? Will we have a chance to speak with an advisor on campus before doing so? Any suggestions? Assuming that rising 2Ls have already made course selections, are spots reserved for transfers?
Yes, they are all walk-on.nonprofit-prophet wrote:Does anyone know anything about secondary journals? I didn't even think about transferring until after the law review competition. Is it still possible to get on a random secondary?

Re: Harvard 2012
I figure I'd create an account and chime in. No word on my application either. I'm at a T14 school, likely in the top 10% (my school doesn't rank). Hopefully there will be a third wave!

Re: Harvard 2012
Harvard is a huge reach for me but I figured I'd chime in, since my status checker still says "ready for review." I'm starting to lose hope after all the email admits! I'm top 5% at a T30 school, moot court, law review, 2yrs good WE.

To be fair I'd prefer a ding today over limbo for weeks and then a ding later. Hopefully there's one last wave prior to the ding-pocalypse

Absolutely. A few poor souls really got strung along last year. No thanks.pballer wrote:To be fair I'd prefer a ding today over limbo for weeks and then a ding later. Hopefully there's one last wave prior to the ding-pocalypse

On the other hand, I know of quite a few candidates who would have been near auto-admits (including myself) in years past who are still waiting. So, maybe there will be another wave. Or, way more people applied this year and the standards have changed.

Re: Harvard 2012
I was trying to go through last year's thread to figure out when dings come, and it seemed like it was now-ish, but not a lot of people reported when they got the notification. Anyone have any more info about when we can expect them? I am with pballer 100%, except likely have less hope for the mythical third wave.pballer wrote:To be fair I'd prefer a ding today over limbo for weeks and then a ding later. +1. Though I would love to attend Harvard, it's a pipe dream. I'm looking at NYC and hoping that comes through today. I really want to go there. Congrats to the new Harvard admits! Please withdraw so I can get into Columbia! Thanks!FlanSolo wrote:Agreed.pballer wrote:To be fair I'd prefer a ding today over limbo for weeks and then a ding later. I just called on the pretense of checking on my transcripts and they said that my app hasn't been reviewed yet and the committee will look at it this week... so the status checker isn't lying when it says "ready for review." Now I have a horrible image of my app sitting in an auto-ding pile just waiting for the axe to fall. I'd prefer the bad news sooner rather than later.

I submitted the last week of June. It's been "ready for review" since 7/5.FlanSolo wrote:That's good news. Same boat here from Duke, wondering if it hurts us to not know what our class rank is....baplntf wrote:I figure I'd create an account and chime in. No word on my application either. I'm at a T14 school, likely in the top 10% (my school doesn't rank). Hopefully there will be a third wave!

People, I would like to know whether your status checker has experienced a stage of "under review". Mine says "application ready for review" since 06/20, and there is change ever since. Thanks for any thoughts.

I find it odd that they've given out so many admits if there are supposedly apps they haven't even looked at yet.forestgirl wrote:I just called on the pretense of checking on my transcripts and they said that my app hasn't been reviewed yet and the committee will look at it this week... so the status checker isn't lying when it says "ready for review." Re: Harvard 2012
she went ready for review 7/5 and people have been accepted who went ready for review on 7/6, so either they only review based on school/rank designations, or she has been reviewed at some juncture.

Re: Harvard 2012
FYI, my status checker never said UR. It was incomplete until this Monday, when I called them. The lady was a little odd on the phone when I asked her what was going on. Perhaps I had already been accepted then. Anyway, she changed it to ready for review Monday afternoon and then I got in Tuesday. Never went UR.pballer wrote:she went ready for review 7/5 and people have been accepted who went ready for review on 7/6, so either they only review based on school/rank designations, or she has been reviewed at some juncture.
I'm sure this is guaranteed to make people even more confused...

That's because there is no "under review." It goes straight from "ready for review" to decision.PinkCow wrote:FYI, my status checker never said UR.
