When i asked a prof for a letter of rec., he said "many" students from my section had already asked him for a letter of rec to Georgetown.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
My completely uneducated guess is 85.
I don't understand how 'many' from one section can even be eligible to have a shot at Georgetown. Even if you stretch to top 25%, how many students could that be in one section?
In my section that'd be ~4 people. How huge is your section?

PS...where are all the anxious countdown-loving GULC EA applicants like there were last year!? There appear to be only a handful of people on this thread...can't we realistically start to know something Monday??

I like the general demeanor in this thread. No need to get overly neurotic or anxious about something that you have no control over at this point (other than working hard and keeping your grades up). When the results start to come out, we'll all be informed and can go from there.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
New to the thread. I applied to Gtown early as well. (3.55 at a T2). I was wait listed last year. Should I update the resume that I sent in or would that be annoying? I will be working in Legal and Compliance at a big bank (think Morgan, Goldman, UBS, types). Is this type of job seen in the same light as judicial internships?

I was expecting this as well, but I'm glad that it's not...makes it easier not to stress.Regionality wrote:PS...where are all the anxious countdown-loving GULC EA applicants like there were last year!? I don't think it would annoy them...but I also don't think they'll care. You'll probably be deferred...peyso wrote:New to the thread. I applied to Gtown early as well. (3.55 at a T2). Why do I think you'll be deferred? I think I will be deferred (3.68, T7%, T35 school)...so I can only imagine you will be too :-/
Where does a 3.55 rank you at your T2?

Speaking of chances...I never asked what my chances were for early decision. Though I realize I'll probably be deferred...
My numbers are:
TTT in the Midwest
GPA: 3.80
Rank: 2/180+

They haven't released a ranking or percentage but from what I've heard it is around the 10-15% range. Does URM status help or is that only helpful the first time on the ride?

They only want to take people that have proven successful in law school, doesn't matter about race

School rank in the 70s (not Catholic U). There are about 75 in my section.Regionality wrote:What rank is your school?Rabbi Marshak wrote:When i asked a prof for a letter of rec., he said "many" students from my section had already asked him for a letter of rec to Georgetown.

I'll venture a guess, too. First batch UR on Tuesday, 4/19. Decisions out by Friday.

Was looking through some of the past EA dates on transferapps. In recent years, the date received ranged from 4/10 to the end of the month. I'll take a guess and say UR by early next week, decisions out by Fri or Mon.

Waiting on this as well. 3.61 (10%) at T2. Not sure if it helps but I applied to Gtown ED last year, so I'm going if I get in. Also working in DC this summer.

His response should probably be interpreted as "Go read the website and don't ask me these questions"snowbunny87 wrote:hey all! i was talking with corey a couple days ago and he mentioned that they weren't going to release decisions until early may

Yea i doubt he'd say something contrary to public information on the website...what he said could easily be interpreted as "we aren't going to release all decisions until early may"...DeSimone wrote:His response should probably be interpreted as "Go read the website and don't ask me these questions"snowbunny87 wrote:hey all! i was talking with corey a couple days ago and he mentioned that they weren't going to release decisions until early may
If they make a decision it's in their interest to get them out ASAP. I'm pretty sure they were telling people the same thing last year and things were coming out at the end of April.

From the sound of what he said, I don't think the main purpose of the call was for that question.maf70 wrote:Do people actually call Georgetown just to ask this kind of shit?
