Honestly, I would rather get in late at this point. If we get off the waitlist after OCI at our current school (or our backup transfer school), no one can blame us for doing OCI and then trading up for name recognition, better future opportunities, T14 connections, etc.

Yeah you could def do OCI at your old school then so that's not a bad option.

Could I do GW OCI with the intention of leaving if Gtown accepts me? I did not do 1L year at GW. Seems kind of screwed up that I can pay 1000 dollars for a deposit to GW, then do OCI, then leave for Gtown. Basically paying a grand for something worth way more. But what is one supposed to do in this situation? I can't do OCI at my former school because I am sure I am transferring.

I'm pretty sure you could do their OCI if you hadn't been accepted to GULC yet, but I'm not an expert on all of this.

USA added to mine as well for citizenship. So I called in this morning and I asked how many people are on the wait list and they said they cant disclose this because it varies frequently. I also asked what is the deadline for transfer students to submit their deposit and accept and they said that this depends on when they were accepted so different people have different deadlines.

Has anybody asked how frequently they re-evaluate the wait list? I forgot to ask this.

Also, I think it would be pretty easy to estimate the number of those on the wait list because I doubt there are many people who are on the wait list and not on this thread. So far I am counting these users:

I think that's a stretch. Imo, for the most part only asocial gunners know about TLS (I kid). I am on WL however.

Thanks for calling! Hopefully there is some movement soon in other T14 schools so people start withdrawing from GULC. It is still early enough for plenty of movement.

I'm on the waitlist and so are two classmates of mine who aren't on here. I emailed them Tuesday and asked about movement on the list and was told there hasn't been any recently and they weren't sure when there would be in the near future.

Previous years there were around 600 applicants (would not be surprised if that increased now) and around 100-125 matriculated. I would guess that GULC accepts around 200 applicants and maybe has 50 or more on the waitlist. They have a large transfer class, so they probably want to be safe. I am just assuming all of this, of course.

There are definitely many people on the waitlist who have never heard of TLS. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the majority. At this point I am going to assume I have been dinged, and will welcome a pleasant surprise acceptance (hopefully after GW's OCI)

Yes. I am as well! I had to pay my GW deposit a long time ago. I will welcome acceptance from GULC, but losing that $1,000 will still hurt a bit.

I saw in another post you got into Umich. Isnt Umich ranked higher? Why do you want Gtown? Just curious about your choice as it could helped me decide too...

I'm living in DC now and still considering going into FedGov, so GULC would be much better for those internships during the year. Definitely leaning towards Mich though.
