I called their office today - they're pretty behind on forms, and a lot of the forms they have just aren't updated in the status checker.

Accepted at Boalt; withdrew from NYU. I'd rather not live in NYC.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to transfer to NYU when you are top 2-3% at a T20?

Mostly geographic/personal reasons - my SO lives in NYC.

I still haven't even received a status checker registration email or confirmation I've even applied. :(

I also didn't receive a status checker email though I was able to access it by resetting password. You're username is the same for all the schools you apply to. I'm still waiting on their processing of the supplemental forms...it's been two weeks since they should have arrived at the office.

I am also waiting for the same thing, my forms should have arrived awhile back.

I had simliar issue with the forms. I had my undergrad send in the forms prior to submitting my application because they are super lazy and slow. Now NYU told me they are "looking" for it.

That's reassuring... going to be really frustrated if I get a waitlist/reject before I even go complete.

NYU makes me surprised. I asked my law school to send my transcript two weeks ago. Today, I make a phone call ask them whether they receive it. A woman says she does not know. In the afternoon, I make a phone call again. A man says that they receive it and still process it. That is the most recent update for me. They receive it.. I called them before several times. They all say that they don't know.......

I transferred in a couple years back when I was top 20% at washu/ucla/vandy/UT. Just wanted to say that transfers do extremely well at EIW. I had something like 28 screeners and 8 or 9 callbacks. Good luck all.

Anyone want to speculate as to why NYU's transfer GPAs (per 2014 509 forms) are significantly lower than Penn's and even GULC's?

No idea - but can you provide a link, I'd like to see it.

Penn is just always hard to transfer into for some reason. I know a couple people who got rejected from Penn as transfers but made it into NYU. Maybe because they're smaller. I've also heard they like locals. No idea about GULC.

Compare the schools that students are transferring from, NYU's list of schools are all pretty much TI, while GULC has a ton of TTT and TTTT

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
