no update yesterday. just nebby, then?

i did not have an update yesterday but I emailed them to reflect law review this am and they said that they would forward my updated resume to the adcom today. So hopefully updates today.

Who knows what my update was. My requirements list still hasn't finished being checked off. I think some of my stuff should have arrived by now. The only thing that I know hasn't showed up yet was the UG certification, because that was sent yesterday.

what is missing from the checklist? I ask because I went UR originally without having my College Questionaire in, which I think is "optional" until you intend to accept - then they need it. So maybe you're good.

Thank you! Yea the admissions asst. is fantastic at NYU - So responsive to my emails. CLS gave me an immediate response too. I think they just don't like the "have you received my X yet" email.

any idea how long of a window they give you to accept/ deposit? if we do deposit, is that binding?

last year it was a 10 day time frame, $650 deposit, and you had to withdraw from home institution and any other school you had been accepted at (i am not sure if pending apps also had to be withdrawn)

this is the part that concerns me. i have a feeling NYU will beat out CLS in terms of speed, though i'd prefer CLS> NYU if i got both.

4. Except under binding early decision plans, law schools
should not require applicants or other persons to indicate the
order of applicants’ law school preferences.

Law schools should allow applicants the freedom to explore
as many opportunities to pursue legal education as possible. To
preserve applicant options, law schools should not base admission
decisions on the order of applicants’ law school preferences, unless
the school has established a binding early decision plan. A binding
early decision plan is one under which an applicant and a law school
mutually agree at the initial point of application that the applicant will
be given an admission decision at a date earlier than usual in return
for the applicant’s commitment, at that date, to attend the school
and withdraw all applications pending at other law schools, and not
initiate new applications. Schools using binding early decision
programs are encouraged to make clear to the applicant the
consequences of violating this agreement.

5. Except under binding early decision plans or for academic
terms beginning in the spring or summer, no law school
should require an enrollment commitment of any kind to an
offer of admission or scholarship prior to April 1. Admitted
applicants who have submitted a timely financial aid
application should not be required to commit to enroll by
having to make a nonrefundable financial commitment until
notified of financial aid awards that are within control of the
law school.

6. After April 1, except under binding early decision plans, every
applicant should be free to accept a new offer from a law
school even though a scholarship has been accepted,
a deposit has been paid, or a commitment has been made to
another school.

yeah, i def agree with that. but we can't count on that. a bunch of people i've talked to had to choose nyu over cls because cls didn't get back to them before the deadline for nyu so they just withdrew from cls.

i am so torn right now. after making LR giving up my almost full scholarship for NYU (and another 100k in debt) is a hard pill to swallow. I don't want to count my eggs before they hatch though.

for sure thought there would be some movement today... maybe the process is changing this year? also thought there would be more ppl active on this thread seeing how popular NYU is for transfers

Yeah, I checked before/after lunch and at 3pm. No movement. I'm very surprised.

And yeah, the transfers have been hella quiet this year on TLS. Except GULC. But who wants to go to GULC?

You can pull up the application through LSAC.

LSAC -> My School List -> NYU -> Start/Continue App -> F2014 Transfer -> under the middle panel "Applications", View: Application home -> "form" on the right side -> college questionnaire

I want to say yes. I'm very surprised with their UR's. CN is the only UR2 last week. He should haev gone UR3 yesterday or def. today based on past year's cycle. Also, I'm sitting at Ur1 from early last week.

I'm not UR yet. My update was a status date change but never changed my status.
