Oh, they'll mail it. But they charge me 20 to overnight it and I really want it in ASAP. They have taken 1 week already to fill it out. Today's the day.CounselorNebby wrote:I would email them. Is your UG unwiling to mail it? I always just attached them to my transcript request. Stating: "Please fill out and send w/ offical transcript."

Does anyone have a requirements checklist? Mine is empty and it says "application being processed"

6/18 "Application ready for review". Not quite sure if that's a prerequisite to "complete" or "under review"?

Yeah. What exactly is the sequence of statuses? Is it (1) application received, (2) application "ready for review" [i.e., complete], (3) application under review, and then (4) application accepted/rejected?toothbrush wrote:6/18 "Application ready for review". 6/30 would be the day of admits this year following last years time-line.
Last year the earliest UR -> Complete was Tues 6/25 -> Mon 7/8
That would mean, given the earliest UR we have this year (6/18) the appropriate amount of time, to release on a monday like last year, would be Monday, 6/30.

Looking back at old threads I think you go "application ready for review" until "accepted".randomstudent wrote:Yeah. What exactly is the sequence of statuses? Are you under that status as well (app ready for review)?

My app went complete yesterday so I think thats the earliest. It went from incomplete to "application ready for review." Pretty sure it stays that way until a decision is made.toothbrush wrote:6/30 would be the day of admits this year following last years time-line.

Whoops, I meant 6/17. I was making a post for another transfer thread which was 6/18. Still, keeping with a full 1 week review time + Monday acceptance day, 6/30 sounds right for you.wu27 wrote: My app went complete yesterday so I think thats the earliest. I see. That helps. Thanks for the clarification, toothbrush. And no, I'm not under that status yet. I'm still at "Application Received."toothbrush wrote:Looking back at old threads I think you go "application ready for review" until "accepted".randomstudent wrote:Yeah. My 2nd Sem grades were just released. Anyone have views on whether my "incomplete" status after others are complete will be:
A) Outcome Determinative
B) Harmless Error

if your app was in by the 16th, I can't imagine they'd ding you just b/c your school took a while with gradesJuniperCreekEsq wrote:My 2nd Sem grades were just released. Anyone have views on whether my "incomplete" status after others are complete will be:

Re: Harvard Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
Lol. Yeah, I doubt it will be a big deal, for at least three reasons: (1) It's not your fault, and they know it. (2) It's not like your grades came in so late that it's likely to completely mess up their review process. Most of us don't have complete statuses yet, so they should still have plenty of time to review your application. (3) You submitted your application before the deadline.juzam_djinn wrote:if your app was in by the 16th, I can't imagine they'd ding you just b/c your school took a while with gradesJuniperCreekEsq wrote:My 2nd Sem grades were just released. Good to know. Thanks.
I noticed someone already got dinged from U Mich, so I was concerned - perhaps needlessly - by the speed of the transfer admission process.

I think schools are gonna move quick in making decisions so they can know the size of class's it seems.

If your grades haven't gotten there yet I'd send them an unofficial transcript, mine went complete after I did thatJuniperCreekEsq wrote:Good to know. Thanks.

this has been a quiet cycle for hls transfers, atleast on tls. i wonder if that's indicative of a smaller transfer pool this year. the deadline was two weeks earlier, so maybe that weeded some people out ?philippian413 wrote:It has been quiet so I said add something to the board.toothbrush wrote:unless you have a truth to say, gtfophilippian413 wrote:VERITAS!

Re: Harvard Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
I sent HLS one of those annoying "Did you get my ish" emails. The reply stated that they are processing applications next week, and that by the end of the week I will be emailed if there are any deficiencies.
This leads me to believe that they may no have started reviewing them yet, rather they're waiting until the end of next week to process the rest of the required stuff. (Which means when they'd begin reviewing on June 30)
Total speculation though. It does however coincide with other "unspoken" deadlines. For instance, NYU states that apps need to be in by 7/1, but supporting credentials by 7/15. We know from last year's Columbia and HLS thread that people were admitted before their application was complete, so I'm assuming HLS is probably following a deadline similar to NYU, but not publicly posting it. (App in by 6/16, but 2 more weeks--6/30--til credentials are due)

What would explain this years earlier deadline, then? You're basically saying that they are going to be processing apps for two weeks longer than last year just to render decisions around the same time?CounselorNebby wrote:I sent HLS one of those annoying "Did you get my ish" emails. I read it more that they made the deadline earlier to 1) limit apps and 2) render decisions earlier to ease the process/solidify their class earlier.

Re: Harvard Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
1. Number one doesn't make sense because transfers are a huge revenue source and because that would also limit their reach to more potentially high valued candidates. They also know many schools (such as UChicago) operate on a quarter system, and that this results in many of those students not actually getting final grades until mid-to-late-June (hence why they allow unofficial transcripts). They have almost zero incentive to limit applications.toothbrush wrote: I read it more that they made the deadline earlier to 1) limit apps and 2) render decisions earlier to ease the process/solidify their class earlier.
2. I posted earlier in the thread that admissions told me that we’d hear from them mid-July by the latest. So it seems we will probably be getting acceptances around the same time as last year.
I have no opinion as to why they may have moved it back. But from what HLS told me today in their email indicates that June 16 was definitely not a “hard,” but rather “soft” deadline. And that presumably June 30 is the “hard” deadline to get ALL credentials in. (Similar to the NYU example above)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
