Re: Stanford Transfer Waiting Thread 2013
My former law school was a pain and didn't get rankings out until the 20th. I didn't see anything about someone who was submitted for review after the 22nd saying they got in last year, but most of the people who got in didn't report their date under review.SandScale004 wrote:Anyone have any of your schools (UG or law school) not send forms in time for the deadline? Had a little trouble with one of my schools, all forms are now sent and received (literally today) so now I am complete, but still worried that this will hurt my chances. From past years, it seems decisions don't go out until mid-July, so hopefully I'm still ok? Thoughts???
Stanford is way black boxy and holistic, and they have like the loooongest time between deadline and decisions. I suspect that they've read everyone's application at this point and are weighing their top 40 people against eachother - in my imagination, they also consult a numerologist who has to do a bunch of meaningless shit-math about everyone's date of birth and the alignment of the planets over the admissions office on the day they received your materials, which is why it takes so long. Given Stanford's voodoo decisions, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided that such a late materials submission was evidence of some sort of irresponsibility or inability to plan ahead on your part - but they could also read your essay and like that the first verb in it was "prevaricated" and decide that puts you in the pile.
Just try not to think about it. That's what I'm doing.

Oh god, if they only just started reviewing some people, we're not going to hear anything this week for sure. Here's to another week of being completely neurotic.brotherdarkness wrote:As of today, my application is complete and under review.

Looking at the 2012 and 2011 threads, it seems like they starting calling people in the middle of the third week of July.

Per the 2012 thread, the first jubilant "I'm in" post went out on the 17th of July. That was a Tuesday. This year, Tuesday is the 16th. I hope they notify based upon the day of the week rather than the date.

Re: Stanford Transfer Waiting Thread 2013
Bolstered by Yale's earlier acceptances this year (last year it was 7/19), I called SLS to ask if they had any estimates of decision-time and mentioned the deadlines for H in passing (didn't apply, but I know a lot of people did and got in) - they said to email them with the details of any deadlines and they might be able to give you some feedback (no guarantees). So it sounds like they have a good idea about at least some of the applicants.
They also said "definitely not this week," but that leaves open the possibility of next week.

I'm optimistic about tomorrow, since that's the Tuesday they released last year and I bet they don't want to completely lose out on all of the Harvard/Yale people.BFrankBYangC wrote:Hope we get some good news today! Status checker is saying my username/password is incorrect but it worked fine earlier this morning. I'm not sure what to make of it...
Anyone else getting the same thing?

My status checker has said that this entire time. When I call the office, they say to use Internet Explorer. I just stopped trying because nothing seemed to work.jdsurf wrote:Status checker is saying my username/password is incorrect but it worked fine earlier this morning.
