@ Wholigan: How would you rate Penn's transfer OCI? Also, how would you rate the hostility/friendliness towards transfers by both admin and students?Wholigan wrote:
OCI deadline is July 10. But they leave spots open for transfers. It's not a disadvantage if you deposit after that.

Went "Complete" yesterday and I'm now "Under Committee Review." I hope it's as quick a turnaround as advertised.

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
I experienced no hostility from anyone, and in general faculty and students are quite friendly. As far as number of interviews, transfers got as many as everyone else. I think I did 28 screeners or so, and the add/drop was very robust last year. At one point I had about 35 scheduled, but I dropped a few.TFR wrote:@ Wholigan: How would you rate Penn's transfer OCI? If you mean success rate, we had a 100% success rate last year among transfers participating in OCI. The year before it was around 90%. Most are in NY, although some transfers placed in DC and secondary markets.

Penn emailed me asking what I was doing this summer. My heart has yet to resume beating after I saw an email from admissions. Alas, we must wait longer.

Hm, I assumed we wouldn't hear from Penn until a little way in to July. Should I add Penn to the freak out list as well?mileslibertatis wrote:Penn emailed me asking what I was doing this summer. My heart has yet to resume beating after I saw an email from admissions. Alas, we must wait longer.

I assume this was not a bad development - it means they are actually looking at my file and thinking about me, instead of just chuckling and crafting a passive-aggressive rejection email to auto-send at the end of July.

Definitely. I didn't mean to suggest it was a bad development. I was just wondering whether I should be on the look out for something sooner.mileslibertatis wrote:I assume this was not a bad development - it means they are actually looking at my file and thinking about me, instead of just chuckling and crafting a passive-aggressive rejection email to auto-send at the end of July.
I don't know why I am being so damn impatient about all of this.

I need to make plans and have many people waiting to make their plans based on whether or where I am moving. It's a problem. I wish I could just send everyone on vacation for 2 weeks.
So I'm impatient too.

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
I've been putting off finalizing my vacation plans with my girlfriend for the last 2 months. She's not happy about this. Not to mention that my current LS's law review has its first round of cite-checks starting in a few weeks. It would be nice not to have to do it if I have an acceptance letter in hand.mileslibertatis wrote:I need to make plans and have many people waiting to make their plans based on whether or where I am moving. Hopefully, good news will arrive soon. *knock on wood*

I just submitted my app, but my schools transcript website wont accept the address on U Penn's website without putting in a unit/suite #. Does anyone have the address where to send transcripts/letter of good standing.

Re: Penn 2012 Transfer Applicants
I spoke to Penn admissions about when decisions would go out because at the time I needed to accept Berkeley by the 6th. When I asked if they would be able to review my file by then, they said, "probably not." I doubt decisions are coming out within the next few days.

I just got another status date update. I first went UR yesterday and the date changed to today. Anyone else have this happen to them? Any idea if it's good?

Yeah my app just went complete two days ago, so I was UR yesterday, and had the status update today.
What are your stats, TFR? I haven't scrolled up, so if they're there, nvm.

5-6% T2. Heard great things about Penn recently and would consider it over CLS. Hope its good news.canesfan1986 wrote:Yeah my app just went complete two days ago, so I was UR yesterday, and had the status update today.

Got the update as well. It could be just an administrative update as it goes from one member of the committee to another. I think their status checker says that every applications is reviewed by at least two members of the committee.

This was the speculation on last year's thread. Did anyone U/R not get an (Second) update?Mce252 wrote:Got the update as well.
