Does anyone know when we would have to show up on campus if we don't do OCI?

CLS rising 2L here. Classes don't start until early September so if you're not doing EIP I don't think you'd have to be around until late August or so.NYC1983 wrote:Does anyone know when we would have to show up on campus if we don't do OCI?

Does this mean they don't call? Please note that decisions will not be available online; rather, all applicants will receive their decision by mail or email.

Someone on this thread was complete about 2 weeks ago, and no reported decisions yet. According to last year's they email or snail mail acceptances, and snail mail rejections.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Just got complete email (strange since it's almost 8pm).
Things are unchecked on my status page, but it says complete, so I guess I won't worry about that.

While this is true about classes, transfer orientation is on August 7th. You should really try to be there for that.piccolittle wrote:CLS rising 2L here. Anyone know what the deal is with LR members returning at the end of July? Surely Columbia students have summer jobs and internships.

Wow August 7th? Why so early? Is this info online? Thanks for the post.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Not sure if it's online yet. There will be a panel of 3L transfers who will answer lots of questions (including many about EIP) and a presentation by career services along with lots of other people. My guess is that they try to get it on the early side so new transfers will have better info by the time they hit EIP. It's also nice to meet your transfer class before EIP so you have people to hang out with between interviews.NYC1983 wrote:Wow August 7th? Why so early? Is this info online? Do a lot of people fly up for that and then move the rest of their lives later? Moving from central Texas is not a pick-up-and-go affair...

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Not entirely sure. I'm sure it depends on your current living situation, your living arrangements in NYC, etc. It's only 2 days before EIP anyway so if you're planning on doing that, then you'll need to either get a hotel room for a week, stay at your new place in the city, or find someone to stay with.mileslibertatis wrote:Do a lot of people fly up for that and then move the rest of their lives later?
