what did you decide to do?
Sent in three LORs. Consensus in chambers of the judge I'm externing for = more won't hurt and might help. Hoping thats true.

We didn't find out till late July last year. Search for last year's thread and you can find out exactly what day. They call everyone who gets in at about the same time.

Why does Stanford require a letter be sent to them certifying class rank? And how do other schools find out this information if not through this same way?

Not sure, but it's the only thing holding up my application. I also just can't forward them the PDF sent by my school that breaks down class ranks, it has to be sent directly from the school. Seems needlessly tedious.

Any idea how the other schools go about getting that information? I kind of want them to know...

I assume this is after the registrar had already emailed class rankings to your entire class, though? As in, I can't email my registrar now for some preferential treatment if they haven't yet released the rankings en masse?

Yes. Ranks came out the day after apps were due, so my transcript was already in.

Did anyone have any luck seeing if Stanford would let you know earlier if you have deadlines pending for other law schools? Berkeley wants an answer by the 11th, but I'm trying to keep my fingers crossed for Stanford... (4.0, but not ranked 1st/2nd)

My instinct is that they would not be impressed by someone not being willing to wait and/or pay a deposit. But you could call and give a fake name and ask, lol.

I think someone posted in this thread that most everyone heard at the same time in late July. Despite that, I'm still hopeful we'll hear something this week. It boggles the mind that Stanford can have a deadline earlier than most every school and yet be the last one to make their decisions.

It takes them a long time to pick 7 people out of 4500 applicants, you know.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
