I'm not so sure that this is correct.

Note that this statement is coming from a supporter of people that choose to go to t2-4 schools for good reasons. I think Cooley's reputation is so vile that almost any t4 would be better, even schools like Whittier or Widener.
cooley's reputation is terrible among law students mainly due to their self-produced rankings. the average lawyer making hiring decisions at a law firm that would consider other t4 candidates most likely doesnt know or doesnt care about that.
Funny thing i've noticed about most lawyer's making hiring decisions at law firms: they used to be law students.

while true, most of those people were law students a loooong time ago, before the cooley ranking shenanigans, TLS, LSD, JDU, and XOXOHTH.

I guess, but I think Cooley's bad rep is growing. More people I've met irl know about the school than about 4 years ago when I started looking into ls when all the brochures were being mass mailed.

Elon student chiming in here: Obviously, it all depends on your circumstances, but I would definitely recommend it. Elon as a whole has a solid reputation, and they are putting great effort into the law school. I think their goal is to get into the Top 100 in a short amount of time, not that it's really saying much. From a prestige standpoint, that made a difference to me instead of choosing a stagnant T3 or T4 school.

Feel free to message me with any of your questions or concerns. I am just a 1L, but I am starting to grasp the school's strengths and weaknesses and would be glad to give you an honest assessment.
