The big stink around GPA is that Michigan has a policy that prevents employers from screening applicants pre-OCI based on GPA (to enable even low ranked applicants to obtain large firm interviews). Now, I am yet to find out whether this means we have to totally leave it off our resume or what, I am not totally sure myself.lawschool7777 wrote:wait...so for a transfer to mich, you cant put your gpa from your old school?

Re: how to add new school to resume
Berkeley's official transfer package said to NOT put law review on the resume unless you made it via write-on. However, the CDO person I spoke with personally said to 100% mention it. Conflicting but I think it can't hurt, I mean who is going to fault you for grading onto law review?
I am going to put it on for sure. The real question is what about anticipated journal membership and sending out resumes this summer. My dilemma is that Berkeley allows anyone to join the secondary journals without a write-on, but how soon is too soon to list it?

Bumping this thread because it is relevant for some of us who transferred this year. If any of you who transferred in previous years have any updated comments please provide them here. Thanks.

For OCI purposes, I would follow the guidance your new school; that's what I have done at Duke. Duke has a particular format it requires all students to use for their OCI resumes, which includes a method for transfer students to list their previous institution.
If your new school allows you to compete in a write-on competition to enter its law review/journals and gives the results prior to OCI, listing your old invitation may be superlative. Best of luck!

Didn't see the other messages were from last year's cycle, but I'll leave my message up.
