There is no such thing as an even playing field. You just want life to be unfair to your advantage and you come here bitching when it isn't. Suck it up, princess.

This guy's just bitter because he goes to UT and can't get over the fact that they are not T14.
I guess he's retaliating against the T14 that rejected him by metaphorically smearing shit all over its door.
tl;dr version: Go fuck yourself eddietx12. Nobody will ever love you.
eddietx12 wrote:I'm sick and tired of this baloney of T14. The University of Texas is an amazing school which is right up there with Georgetown.

That last one's a goodie, where he lets his dog constantly shit outside his neighbor's window without cleaning it up and then gets pissed when the neighbor retaliates by smearing dog crap on his door.eddietx12 wrote:I have a bad habit of not cleaning up after my dog

That's it . . . what things are like for white people is the standard by which everyone else should be judged and obviously white people have it harder than everyone else.eddietx12 wrote:Well, the self-proclaimed 'blasian' needs to understand that she will never ever know what she truly deserves on an equal-playing field.

Serious question here. Is it possible that the OP is the first documented person to be literally driven insane by US News rankings? There seems to be an inferiority complex with respect to Texas not being in the T-14, which is a US News generated construct. This appears to be generating the antisocial behavior on the internet here. It might be an interesting subject for a psychology thesis.mallard wrote:This OP may be the best poster in the history of TLS. Just read his post history to see what I mean. Weird mishmosh of hating Texas and wanting to transfer and putting down other schools.

And the table-tilt will continue for hiring as well.
The labor market is segregated into regular laborers, and laborers with an asterix.
AA is a horrible system where every beneficiary of AA will always have an asterix next to their name, much like Barry Bonds.
Only in the case of the self-proclaimed 'blasian', her string of 166s and a 172 is an average of 168, a score which is fine with her GPA for BoalTTT, but def. not for "Harvard"
Elite schools don't look at 166, 166, 172 and then say - oh yeah, this kid's a 172 LSAT. They're not stupid. They looked at her minority status and tilted the whole table in this individual's favor.

Eddietx12, I have some serious problems with affirmative action, but you are such a personally vindictive douchasaurus that I find myself being persuaded away from that viewpoint by the sheer frustration I have with your petulant whining.
Also, I am frustrated that I am not sure how this thread moved from discussing Boalt's ranking to discussing affirmative action so quickly.

USNWR matters for employment. I am very concerned with having to compete on the SAME ROULETTE table with one set of gamblers who are playing different odds, and making my odds worse.
This is like putting hard earned money (time) into a casino (the labor market), where the payoffs are skewed in favor of one group of people, AT THE EXPENSE of hard working suckers like me.
This is how I get punished? For what?! Why should she be permitted to smile and take her mug at "Harvard Law," where some of the greatest minds have passed? What has she done to belong there other than "be" of a certain category, what skill does that take?

Most non-URM people with those kinds of stats get rejected than accepted by HLS, he was in the super-minority for non URM, compared with you - someone who was assured admittance based on an attribute she made no contribution to.GAIAtheCHEERLEADER wrote:Hey Eddie!!!

(1) You're not betting against other people.
(2) People who trumpet their hard work are usually kind of dumb.
(3) You're not being punished. There's a decent argument about rights and compelling interests and balancing interests and everything, but you're not making it coherently.
(4) Anyone can get their picture taken at Harvard Law. Asian tourists do it all the time.
(5) Very few of "the greatest minds" have passed through Harvard law.
(6) It still takes skill to get the numbers to get into HLS, and this particular poster went above and beyond that.

My name is Gaia. I only got into Harvard because I'm black. My stats that are evidently higher than quite a few non-URMs on LSN mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
How do I sleep at night? Oh yeah...with my HLS admit binder by my bedside.
I'm usually not this arrogant, but I can't help but be a scathing bitch when someone tries to devalue all the hard work I put in. I missed summer vacations to take classes and studied for the LSAT for over a year. GET THE FUCK OUT WITH THIS RACIST BULLSHIT.
