Is there really any point in transferring to HYS from the top of the class (think top 1-2%) at a lower T14? Very conflicted at the moment. I know a good portion of the top students at my LS go to HYS every year after 1L but I don't really see what you get out of it besides a different name on the diploma. Considering that it would be a lot more expensive, is there any reason that could possibly justify a transfer to HYS for someone in this position?

unless $ is simply not a concern (i.e. rich parents footing the bill), transferring, even to Y, would be a terrible decision for you

and even if $ is not a concern, it's still a bad decision. don't do it

Has anybody been able to get LSAC to send rec letters to Yale?

Yale will pull a CAS report once they get your app (is my understanding).

It does not seem that you can assign LORs to Yale because you cannot start an app/choose a term. Has anyone figured this out? Yale's application says that letters can be sent via LSAC. So there must be a way.

3.759 at Hastings. Cali/Witkin for Legal Writing. Mexican American (bump?). Big law this summer.

A disappointing 2nd semester screwed me out of Stanford, but I am thinking I still have a shot at Berk. Worth applying to NYU or Columbia as well?

Does that mean I actually *shouldn't* update with things like Journal, or does it just apply to 'don't make stuff up just to keep you on our radar?'

Would it be worth it to transfer from Wayne State to Michigan?

3.76 1L GPA. Career goal is Detroit big law. Am on Moot Court; decent shot at Law Review.

Is it worth it to give all that up and try and transfer?

Money is not an issue. Biggest thing is getting a Detroit big law job. Feel like I have equal shot at either place. Would it be worth it to try and transfer?

Caveat: I know nothing about Wayne St. - That said, I can't imagine that this move could be a bad one, especially if for whatever reason money is not an issue.

What does a 3.76 likely rank you at Wayne? I imagine quite high.

I am applied weeks ago but my school only sent the class rank and transcripts this week and Duke and Cornell for example said it could take them weeks to complete things that they receive per postal mail. I am worried I am already too late because some people have already been accepted and the schools I am really interested in only take a small number.

I don't know the exact dates, but most of them were complete a couple days after I submitted all my transcripts and everything. Did you send them your unofficial transcript as soon as it became available?

Honestly, that's complete BS that it would take them that long. What's so hard about scanning it into your file?

They're probably just being annoying and telling you that, but I bet it will be complete after a few days. Send in whatever unofficial stuff you have.

Nice! I'd just send an email to all the others with an update on your class rank instead of waiting for your school to do it, just in case. Even though they said they won't review until they get the official stuff, it will give them more info and might get the ball rolling.

No. This hurts you in clerkship hiring and probably firm hiring too. Don't do it.
