CLS: Complete 7/11--> Accepted 7/16 (will probably attend)

NYU: 7/2 processing--> UR 7/18 --> UR 7/20
H: Ready for review 7/5
Y: Application received email 7/10

No dings yet. I'm not sure how much longer I can realistically wait for such a small chance at H/Y. I will probably move forward with Columbia in the next day or two and get ready for OCI.

Updated info in bold above. I'm pretty sure at this point I'm going with Columbia.

Yep (with usual caveat about H/Y). I think there will be some more movement this week for everyone when Y sets off a chain reaction, so don't give up yet. Y will pull some kids from H, who will pull some kids from CCN, who will pull some kids from MVP, etc.

I'll try not to yet. The only thing would be the possibility of missing the bidding deadlines. If I miss those, what would be the point of going anymore? To mass mail everyone? I probably wouldn't.

Yeah. In my mind, I already feel like I'm staying. I guess there are worse things that can happen than going to school for free. My school claims I'll get Biglaw down here if I want it, especially since I'm from here, so that's good news.

Totally shocked at this cycle though. No idea what happened. I'm sure you feel the same way, pballer.

Believe me, I do. My school also give 1k in scholarship to the top 20 students after 1L and doesn't give any additional merit scholarships, so I'll still basically be paying in-state sticker.

That's totally f'ed up. 1K and that's it?! That's nuts. I'd be at GULC if that were all I received.

Not from atlanta and wouldn't mind atlanta, but would prefer chicago (fairly unlikely to happen absent a transfer)

Worst case scenario you could always work Biglaw in ATL for a while and move offices later on. I'm sure some firms make this easier than others. That being said, I would like to hear something back already. This is ridiculous.

I'm #1 and I wish I had fed the poor, taught English in Laos, or cured cancer. That whole "we only care about school and class rank" is crap. Plenty of people from lower-ranked schools were admitted to the schools I applied. I think Arrow's post on transferring needs some serious revision.

I've been thinking of posting this exact sentiment in that thread. It was probably more true a few years ago when fewer people were applying. Now that so many people from each school apply, the schools aren't necessarily going to pick the #4 ranked person over #s 5 and 6, who both also applied. If they like something about #6's softs, they'll just take her.

I've personally been passed over so far this cycle for people lower-ranked than me at my school and at other schools. It's been frustrating, because I believed arrow, but I guess that's the new normal.
