Re: NYU status
Decision letter sent yesterday. Still haven't gotten anything but I can log into the admitted students site! And I got an email addressed to transfer students! Top 10% at a T25.

They sent an email to all transfer students who were accepted today. That's why the poster got the email.

So is it the case that if you didn't get the letter you haven't been accepted and will be rejected soon?run26.2 wrote:They sent an email to all transfer students who were accepted today. That's why the poster got the email.

That is what I believe this means. I guess I won't be losing my penn deposit after all.

Where did you hear this from? Do you know how long we have to do the write-on? Is it the exact same days or is it possible to just do it after EIW?solidsnake wrote:FYI found out today that the LR/2dary journal xfer writeon comp is DURING THE SAME WEEK AS EIW.

Re: NYU status
so does still being under review as of now at NYU mean a rejection? Is there a big deposit day in the future that may open up a lot of spots???
Help...anyone...?

I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it if he doesn't want to clerk. You'll already have your SA by the time you'll find out if you made a journal or not, so it's not going to help your chances at all, just add to your stress during the most important week of your life.luthersloan wrote:That is awesome.solidsnake wrote:FYI found out today that the LR/2dary journal xfer writeon comp is DURING THE SAME WEEK AS EIW.

Re: NYU status
Given when classes start, and the fact that admits will probably keep trickling in until August 15th, I would not be surprised.

kind of surprising that nyu would expect students to worry about an all encompasing write-on comp during interview week!

Re: NYU status
I really doubt this is true. It wouldn't make sense... especially considering there are 4-5 days between the last EIW date and the start of classes and how much time we have between now and interviews on the 23rd.ZXCVBNM wrote:kind of surprising that nyu would expect students to worry about an all encompasing write-on comp during interview week!

Still better than asking people to do the write-on prior to being accepted at the school, in my book.

yeah, i agree with that. I just think they still have better options. does anyone know how long we have? maybe its 2 weeks and only overlaps for a couple days?rynabrius wrote:Still better than asking people to do the write-on prior to being accepted at the school, in my book.

They'll want to do it as late in the summer as possible, though, to make sure that even the last admitted transfer student has a chance to participate.addicted wrote:I really doubt this is true. Is it really only a week? Regular students were given two weeks - but maybe it's a different packet.

It MUST be a different packet. It would be absurdly unfair to use the same one, right? Right?

Still under review. Should I send a LOCI with an updated resume?
At this point I'm thinking it is probably a ding. Shades of Georgetown's "preferred waitlist" from last year.
