Interesting. Do you think it will look favorably or unfavorably that I applied ED the first time around (and eventually got rejected)?

Playing the DA here, why would they hold it against you? It clearly shows you want to attend.JR00576 wrote:Interesting. Do you think it will look favorably or unfavorably that I applied ED the first time around (and eventually got rejected)?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I applied to GULC last cycle, not ED though.
I have a feeling it relaly won't come into play so much, but they do have twice the materials to look at I guess.

I was just looking at the dates that people found out from Gtown EA over the past couple years based on the yahoo database. Do you guys think last year was a one off year in that people didnt find out until the end of april (as opposed to early early april the previous couple years) or is that the new trend b/c they are getting so many more apps.? Anyone ask the admissions office about this?

Yea, I was told end of April/early May when I called a couple weeks ago. They might have a better estimate after the deadline.GooseGTI wrote:I was just looking at the dates that people found out from Gtown EA over the past couple years based on the yahoo database. The delay in decisions is not that they receive more apps, but instead that the USNWR rankings come out later now. They use the new USNWR as a deciding factor, cross referencing the latest rank with an applicant's GPA in making admissions decisions.
That's my hypothesis, anyway.

I was wondering how much the rankings come into play. That sucks for us if we drop.Bankhead wrote:The delay in decisions is not that they receive more apps, but instead that the USNWR rankings come out later now. I don't think they use US News Rankings as a gauge for how good a school is. A lot of schools are overranked/underranked relative to their student quality.
For instance - my school Brooklyn Law is ranked below schools like U. Tennessee, U. Kentucky, Florida, FSU, and others whose median LSAT scores are 2-3 points lower than Brooklyn's.

I was under the impression that schools didn't have to report transfer statistics....

I submitted 3/4 as well. If they have all of our documents, I guess there is nothing we can do but hope they make it complete by Monday?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I just went complete around the 3rd and I had all my materials to them by the 15th, so it definitely takes some time everyone should probably calm down a bit, you shouldn't be at any disadvantage.
That said, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on when they begin reviewing the applications, if decisions are made (not given) all at once, and if anyone knows if they have an order of review different from relative times that applications are complete?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Just found out that GULC is missing my dean certification which I dropped off almost three weeks ago, sent two e-mails to the dean about, and stopped by the office to make sure it was sent. I think it will make my transferring decision easier in the long run if this takes me out of the running for the EA pool.
I really don't think I could be more on top of them. Oh well I guess I will call again tomorrow and see if I can overnight it.

Man, I sent all of my stuff mid-to-late Feb. and I'm still not complete. I hope this doesn't mean that something went wrong.

When I called they said that as long as I had done my part before the deadline, I was fine. Right now they are just waiting for LSAC to send them hard copies, and they say that's not my fault. So I think that most of us should be okay. Hopefully.

I think LSAC may be kinda behind as well. It took over a week for my LOR to get to GULC.

It sucks when I check my status and see "app received." I just know something went wrong.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
