Disagree with the former. Agree with the latter. I would definitely go if admitted off the waitlist. But, is it completely wrong to participate in OCI at your current school if you're going to leave?Mce252 wrote:I feel like it doesn't even matter anymore. Many say yes. Do you know whether you would even be able to do OCI at GULC this late? Or get on a journal? What's the point?BAK123 wrote:Disagree with the former. Agree with the latter. I've just withdrawn from Georgetown to accept a spot at CLS, hopefully this opens a spot for someone else. Best of luck.

Re: Georgetown RD Applicants Fall 2012
hey, anyone looking for housing? I'd love to live in the capital hill area, really easy walking distance from the law school. I'm still waiting to hear from NYU/Columbia, but figure it's important to start making plans now. If I don't hear from either school over the next week, I think I'm going to have to go ahead and commit to Gtown, and find a place to live asap. Pls PM if interested! Thanks!

Re: Georgetown RD Applicants Fall 2012
Georgetown historically has accepted the most transfer students of all law schools, right?
Is it just me or is this thread painfully silent? Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything at all? Crickets over here.

Well the email did say "late August"...I'm not anticipating any movement until the start of August.BAK123 wrote:Georgetown historically has accepted the most transfer students of all law schools, right?

Has it begun yet? Is it time to start losing our minds? Because I am absolutely in for that.lnllnl wrote:One waitlist student's prayer/LOCI:
Heavenly father,
We thank you tonight for all your blessings you sent,
And for you said in all things give thanks.
So we want to thank you tonight for this mighty law school that you brought before us.
Thank you for the multitude of electives and the distinguished professors.
Thank you for the close school location from my work.
Most of all we thank you for waitlisting this student to give us the prayer that we see before us tonight.
Thank you for answering my emails and giving me hope.
Thank you for my TTTT school that doesn't rank and curves to a C+/B- bringing lackluster performance and power to my transcript.
Lord, I want to thank you for not bogging me down with a GF and keeping me forever alone.
And for being childless because I cannot afford child support right now.
Lord, I pray you bless this student and take him off the WL tonight.
May he put on a performance worthy of this great school.
In Jesus name,
boogity boogity boogity,
Amen.

When I called earlier this week they said they plan to "update everyone" on the 30th. Might be a doomsday for some or all, I would guess.

Re: Georgetown RD Applicants Fall 2012
To respond to the questions about the transcript and points assigned for our grades for the write-on: All transfers get the same amount of points assigned for their grades. Thus, since its a competition, the only difference between our scores is our writing submission and a resume/personal statement if requested.
On the point of sending in a transcript, I also did not realize until recently that they asked for that. However, I called and asked about whether I still needed to send one in or whether it would be easy for them to access my transcript from the admissions or registrar's office. They replied that it is not a big deal, but I could send one to them if I wanted.
In sum, it sounds reassuring. I hope that the advice I received was accurate and that I didn't screw up my chances.

Do you know roughly how many transfers made it onto the main journal last year?sarryn wrote:Congratulations to everyone that has been admitted and good luck to those of you who are still waiting!

nope me either. I'm annoyed. Almost called them to ask where said update was but I didn't want to be too obnoxious. If no word tomorrow, I may call and harass again.lnllnl wrote:Haven't heard a peep all day. Anyone?tink1 wrote:When I called earlier this week they said they plan to "update everyone" on the 30th. I believe time is our friend, amigos. I take it to mean that they are still deciding our fate. Which is good. I have no doubts that they'd love to terminate all the incessant calls and what not with one quick, "Sorry, no more room"-e-mail if they could.

update as of today: transfer class is still full. "We will be in touch on Wednesday, August 29, with a final update."
Might be time to give up and move on with my life.
