I am set to go to Penn, but if I am accepted at NYU, there is a very good chance I will go to NYU. This is mainly because of personal reasons that would make NY more ideal than Philly. If I don't get into NYU, I will be 100% happy to be at Penn. Based on the third person going to decision letter sent, I am thinking rejection.
Did you try the admitted students site?

yeah i am thinking rejection too. i know another friend who has a decision letter sent status as well as of today. seems like a batch of rejections. bleh =\ whatever.. at least this will somewhat bring more certainty to my transfer cycle.

we shud all include our stats when we go DR. i am DR 8/4 and t2 top 2-3%

also DR today. #1 @ T3 in NYC

at first look, it smells like a batch of rejections but maybe it's not? i would assume if this is the first batch of rejections, hundreds would be part of it but it seems like there are only 4 people who went DR today. I am already in NY and it seems like narrowlytailored is also T2% @ a T4 in NYC so it seems reasonable that NYU would accept top students at local schools.

iheartlaw & CAlaw, what states are you from? relatively close to NYU?

I am out in CA. Is it possible that there is a mix of acceptances and rejections? It seems like some spots opened up from people pulling out (so more acceptances) and they said they informed me that they would have a decision either way by mid-August (potential rejections). I saw an acceptance was overnight UPS, so people may find out tomorrow.

I did try the admitted students site and it didn't work. But I previously read that the site didn't work immediately for some acceptances.

i just dont understand why only a few people would be dinged today... NYU hasnt dinged anyone yet so i figured there would be a ton of people on here that went DR if this was a mass pool of rejections. I'm in NYC so I hope I get my letter tomorrow!

I was feeling pretty confident mine is a rejection. I was accepted by UCLA (I went to a socal law school for 1L), accepted at Penn (went there for undergrad), and rejected by two high ranking schools that I have no connection to, Columbia and GULC. It would make sense that it is a rejection from NYU. Your confidence the other way is really making me wonder.

im really not confident, but really scared & curious.. if you think about it, why would you, me, and the other two people that went DR get rejected and everyone else is still UR? this would tend to go against what has been happening so far.

i always predicted that of all the acceptances given out by the T14 schools like CCN, many people will end up not following through and attending because of the anxiety/fear/uncertainty of leaving a top school where you're a T1-10% student. plus, this is the time where schools start finding out who really isnt going to attend. the later it gets in the cycle, i always thought schools would have to send out more acceptances than usual to net candidates to fill these last minute spots. this is why i thought if i got in, i would find out late in the game because a #1 @ a NYC T3 will almost 99.9% attend (moving across country with less than 3 weeks notice is a little hectic while simply changing subway stops is not so hard especially when making such a big leap in the rankings makes it all the more worthwhile).

i really pray this is an acceptance, if it is, i think i would just cry

i'm from Cali also. you guys got me all confused, now i dont know what to think. but if the deadline is monday for deposit, then it doesnt make sense for them to admit all of us right before the deadline. if anything it would make sense after the deadline. unless of course CALaw is right and a lot of admits already withdrew. i'm hoping most of the NYU admits also got in to CLS and chose CLS over NYU, and that's why they will be accepting so many right now. wishful thinking maybe. i guess time will tell.

I had resigned myself to the fact that this would be a rejection but, after reading the above comments, I have no freakin' clue anymore.

If it's an acceptance, I guess we will know in a matter of hours (assuming it was sent overnight like all the others).

When I spoke to them they said that yesterday was various decisions---rejections and acceptances.

My status was changed on August 4th to "Decision Letter Sent" as well.

I am not sure if this bodes well for anyone considering my transfer season has been less than stellar.

FWIW: Midwest T3 (4/1xx). Ties to NYC as I worked there before law school.
Rejected: Columbia, Northwestern, Michigan (undergrad school-shows no love).
Waitlisted: GULC
Still waiting: NYU and Fordham.

Goodluck to everyone with decisions finally sent.

nope nothing. I'm trying to cut down on how many times a day I check the status checker.

I check around 2pm everyday during my lunch break. Yesterday, August 4th, at that time, my status still said under review.

So wait, ambitious transfer students who get into NYU late must:

1) Do the journal write on
2) Participate in a separate OCI
3) Get oriented, register for classes, and such

...

all within a one or two week period? Is that right? Brutal.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
