Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
For those of you that were rejected: did your status read "DR" before you heard from the school? Or did it just say "Under Review" up until the time they e-mailed you?

For everyone whose status changed to UR 7/15 this morning, do you think we should hear something by the end of today? I feel like Georgetown may wait an extra few days to send me my rejection.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Mine said UR 7/9 until yesterday. I got the email. Then, when I looked at the status checker it said Decision Rendered 7/14. Technically I'm not sure when it changed to DR.ctlutz wrote:For those of you that were rejected: did your status read "DR" before you heard from the school? If they are going to reject us, I wish they would just get it over with. I feel like I'm on death row here.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
does anyone know if they do waitlists for transfers? I saw that mentioned a few pages back, but has it actually happened to anyone?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Actually, they have in years past but I dont think they've done it this year. Perhaps we are the waitlist pile? On yahoo transfer apps, the waitlists seem to have gone out around this time...

I don't really understand the transfer WL idea. Is it that you take a semester/year off before starting at the new school?

No, it's just that they tell you in August and you miss the journal write on, perhaps some or all of OCI, and you have to pick up and move in like 3 days notice. Count me out.

If there's nothing within the next 15 minutes I'm back to they were actually just reviewing files today. All correspondence seems to come between 3-4pm from anecdotal experience.

Not to be a negative nancy, but rejections (in contrast to acceptances) have taken sometimes days from the original review change date.

Yes. I had to wait 5 days before my status as a failure and reject was reconfirmed. I doubt you all will have to wait that long.Bankhead wrote:Not to be a negative nancy, but rejections (in contrast to acceptances) have taken sometimes days from the original review change date.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
So looks like there are 7-8 of us that changed dates today. Don't know if that has any significance, but noteworthy.

this was after an UR date change or did it actually go to DR first?selfloathingtransfer wrote:Yes. I had to wait 5 days before my status as a failure and reject was reconfirmed. On 7/9 it changed from UR 6/20something to UR 7/9. Rejection email 7/14. Both did not change to FT or PT on 7/9, which is apparently, apparently, the sign of a forthcoming WL/Ding.samiseaborn wrote:this was after an UR date change or did it actually go to DR first?selfloathingtransfer wrote:Yes. I got the email before I saw if the thing had changed to DR or not. I'm not sure which came first. The DR or the email.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm going to go be in denial now because GULC was pretty much my only hope.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
So, in theory, since you didn't check the status thingy until after the email, perhaps your date could have changed, then it went to DR/ding, then you received the email? Perhaps somebody could have gone date change > DR > accept?selfloathingtransfer wrote:On 7/9 it changed from UR 6/20something to UR 7/9. Rejection email 7/14. I'm really reaching here. And most likely disillusioned.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Figured I'd throw in that my status changed to 7/15 today as well. I don't put much weight on it- I assume what has happened is they have waited to see how many intents to enroll they got from the accepted bunch and have now turned to a "maybe" pile. I'm guessing this means we're in the maybe pile and they only started substantively looking at our apps today.
just a guess.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
