Are people expecting letters even though their status checkers haven't changed? Is that what CLS has been doing?keg411 wrote:Nothing. Spared another day.engineered madness wrote:Anybody get any mail from Columbia today?

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
That appears to be what they're doing at least. All the CLS status checker seemed to indicate was complete vs. incomplete. I don't think it indicated decisions made even for people that got accepted.TransferRisk wrote:Are people expecting letters even though their status checkers haven't changed? Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
As I posted yesterday, I've been rejected by CLS. My status checker still just indicates 'Complete.' ...Except now it indicates that they do not have my transcript or dean's certification letters, neither of which appeared at all on the status check before my rejection (I specifically called to ask about that a week ago and was told they couldn't tell me over the phone because they weren't finished processing documents...go figure).

Stanford people - What cut-off date are you thinking? I'm setting a soft deadline of Wednesday for myself. By then, I really need to sign on an apartment in Chicago and commit.

Apparently Stanford and CLS are competing for the 'most disorganized and/or torpid admissions office' crown. It could be a bloody fight.Transferthrowaway wrote:Stanford people - What cut-off date are you thinking? I'm setting a soft deadline of Wednesday for myself. Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
I'm not sure that's fair. It seems both SLS and CLS have made offers to those they want and are keeping a couple of people in reserve just in case there's unexpectedly low matriculation. The one thing that's odd is that they do not seem to officially be calling it a 'wait list,' rather pretending everyone is still 'under review.'

Snail mail rejection from Columbia. Now I can officially call myself an NYU law student! It was a win win situation.

+1. I would take NYU in a heartbeat.engineered madness wrote:what was the letter dated? You're in jersey right? I'm sorry bro, but NYU is NOTHING to scoff at....kaiser wrote:Snail mail rejection from Columbia. Now I can officially call myself an NYU law student! It was a win win situation.
I'm wondering if my letter just got lost in the mail

ETA: I don't have the weird documents things that the poster above reported.

I haven't heard either way from Columbia either. Thought I might see a letter today, but guess I'm in the shrinking group who are either still alive or have slow mail.

It's hard to predict a cut-off date. The lady I spoke to at the admissions office (who's very nice, btw) said that in previous years they've sent offers up until the end of August.Transferthrowaway wrote:Stanford people - What cut-off date are you thinking? I'm also on the soft waitlist (if that's what it is), so make that six. Or five, if you counted mebeSajid in the original count, who updated a decision letter after your post.transfer wrote:Make that five - I've been lurking, and am still under review.SLShopeful wrote:I'm quite surprised at how many ppl here are still UR at SLS. My view is that since (at least) four of us here are still UR there, there must be many more out there as well, since we are just a limited sample. But I may be underestimating TLS... maybe everybody that has a chance at SLS is a member of TLS???

I'm pretty sure there are only a couple of us and my guess is it's mostly because of slow mail.TransferRisk wrote:How many are still waiting to hear from CLS?

Yeah, but my stats aren't getting me into CLS as compared to the people who were just rejected. Maybe change "slow mail" to "lost mail"engineered madness wrote:Where do you live? aren't you jersey ?keg411 wrote:I'm pretty sure there are only a couple of us and my guess is it's mostly because of slow mail.TransferRisk wrote:How many are still waiting to hear from CLS?
