T14 Transfer Status Change Thread Forum

A forum for those current students who are or may be transferring from one school to another. Post any questions, advice, or other transfer related comments here.
Forum rules
Anonymous Posting

Anonymous posting is only available to the creator of each thread. The anonymous posting feature is intended to permit the solicitation of anonymous advice regarding the transfer application process, chances of being accepted, etc. Unacceptable uses include: testing the feature, questions which are clearly fake or hypothetical in nature, harassing other users, etc. Posters should also read and understand the announcements posted at the top of the Transfers forum prior to using the anonymous feature.

Failure to follow these rules will get you outed, warned, or banned.

That appears to be what they're doing at least. All the CLS status checker seemed to indicate was complete vs. incomplete. I don't think it indicated decisions made even for people that got accepted.

As I posted yesterday, I've been rejected by CLS. My status checker still just indicates 'Complete.' ...Except now it indicates that they do not have my transcript or dean's certification letters, neither of which appeared at all on the status check before my rejection (I specifically called to ask about that a week ago and was told they couldn't tell me over the phone because they weren't finished processing documents...go figure).

Stanford people - What cut-off date are you thinking? I'm setting a soft deadline of Wednesday for myself. By then, I really need to sign on an apartment in Chicago and commit.

Apparently Stanford and CLS are competing for the 'most disorganized and/or torpid admissions office' crown. It could be a bloody fight.

I'm not sure that's fair. It seems both SLS and CLS have made offers to those they want and are keeping a couple of people in reserve just in case there's unexpectedly low matriculation. The one thing that's odd is that they do not seem to officially be calling it a 'wait list,' rather pretending everyone is still 'under review.'

+1. I would take NYU in a heartbeat.

I'm wondering if my letter just got lost in the mail :lol:. But I don't want to call and ask on Monday because they'll probably just send me that .pdf rejection letter. I bet the class is full.

ETA: I don't have the weird documents things that the poster above reported.

I haven't heard either way from Columbia either. Thought I might see a letter today, but guess I'm in the shrinking group who are either still alive or have slow mail.

It's hard to predict a cut-off date. The lady I spoke to at the admissions office (who's very nice, btw) said that in previous years they've sent offers up until the end of August.

If there is one thing that you can say about transferring it's that it's unpredictable, so hold your breath...i have since my complete date in mid-july ;)
