Wow, rejection. Guess Top 5% at T40 school wasn't enough this year.

Yep. Ding.

Good luck to the rest of you.

+1 the wait is very frustrating, but I guess when you really want something remain hopeful. T4 top 1% I am always optimistic but know I will end up where I am supposed to.Bankhead wrote:Still UR 6/12

If your status has gone unchanged does that mean that they have not accessed your file since that date? I figured most EA deferred candidates would get a quick response. I know now that I figured wrong.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I think you all at lower ranked schools have a great chance. I think the problem with T40-T50 schools is that most people in the top 10% try and get out to something just a tad bit better. I think this overpopulates the pool with applicants from these schools.

Well, I don't know about anyone else but this school basically expires on me if I haven't heard by 7/19...

Ding ding ding. T10% at t40, law review, and gtown was the only school I applied to (and they knew it). Really? That's some ice cold adcom right there.

Holy shit. And I thought my ding was weird. None of that makes sense. You guys are almost autos...there are t4 kids gettin in (no offense, at all, just puzzling). Gulc has been so weird this year. Sorry to hear that.
Why did you only apply to gtown, gulc?

That sucks man. On the bright side you are T10% at a T40 school. There is a lot to say for that.gulceatransfer wrote:Ding ding ding. T10% at t40, law review, and gtown was the only school I applied to (and they knew it). Really? That's some ice cold adcom right there.

That's what I keep trying to tell myself. T10% at T40 still puts you in a great position to land a great job during OCI. I'm in the same boat, so I hope this wisdom holds true.Welp2277 wrote:That sucks man. On the bright side you are T10% at a T40 school. I think the problem is way more people from these Top 40-50 schools applied than the T4 schools.stinger35 wrote:Holy shit. And I thought my ding was weird. None of that makes sense. Personal reasons for needing to be in the DC area (real ones). Thought about GW, but couldn't justify it in the short term b/c of large cost increase relative to marginal academic improvement / (potentially) increased job prospects. Oh well, as you said, I'm still doing just fine, but this is disappointing to say the least. Good luck all.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I'm really sorry you guys. =( The statement that these transfer cycles are so unpredictable clearly holds weight here. Many of you guys, like stinger said, should have been "auto admits." I really wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope that for those of you still waiting on acceptances, your dreams come true.
If it is any consolation, I spoke to admissions today and they told me they only accepted a couple dozen people yesterday. I think they may be winding down, as their journal write on is July 26th deadline, and bidding for OCI is what July 23rd? Bleh, even if I do transfer here, it seems like I will have no shot at either of those- as I am currently in summer school and have finals till july 24th and then need to move back home right after that.
Keep you head up peoples, things will work out.
