I think that's a pretty good assessment of best choices. So I did a crap ton of research on NU v Mich before making my decison. My impression is that Mich will place stronger into NYC than NU. NU is obviously a great biglaw school, but it's very Chicago centric.

That was my fear. NU does appear to be Chicago centric.

Mich does have better fed clerk rates also. But I think it all depends on where you want to be the next 2 years. I don't see a problem getting NYC big law at either school.

From what I understand, didn't all of us get interviews? The sense I got was that everyone who applied was interviewed this year.

I did not get an interview and I thought that I would be somewhat competitive so i don't think they were interviewing everybody. Top 15% at T30. Went complete 6/20 and did not hear anything today.

Re: Northwestern Transfer
I think they interviewed everyone that applied relatively early AND were highly competitive (shoe-ins). I think they are starting to send out the second rounds of interview requests now for people that applied a bit later and/or are still considering.

Re: Northwestern Transfer
Obviously we don't know exactly what NU admissions is doing. My hunch is that they interviewed the majority of people who applied early regardless of competitiveness. I know I'm NOT highly competitive at NU, but I did get an interview. Of course I could be 100% wrong. Just my personal take on the situation.

Top 15%, Law Review, T2, and an interview, which i felt went fine. BUT, at a Chicago school where NW takes many transfers from (i.e. DePaul/Loyola)
Seem to let in a lot of kids from these schools - either a lot apply or NW can all but guarantee they will enroll because we wont have to relocate. In the end, we're all just speculating

Re: Northwestern Transfer
In this morning. Regional TTT, top 1%. Anyone know how transfers do at NU in OCI? Think an extra $80,000 in debt is worth it considering my current school is in the same market and places at least a few students a year in biglaw?

Re: Northwestern Transfer
I think at this point it is all speculation but I would put money on movement either tomorrow or Monday. Most years there are two main movements (1st two rounds go out within a day or two then a week or two later two more rounds go out)jwall wrote:Think we will see any movement tomorrow?

Have new people interviewed? Based on the acceptances so far, it seems an interview is a prerequisite to admission.w7ldcard wrote:I think at this point it is all speculation but I would put money on movement either tomorrow or Monday. I think the better question is: Has anyone gotten in without interviewing?bmmccb223 wrote:Have new people interviewed?
