Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
I don't think it means youre dinged. There hasn't even been a wave of admits. Not sure what's going on there. It's been a few here and there. But their EIW is basically closed now for transfers, so what's the point?Anonymous User wrote:Not withdrawing, but at this point I'm just like ugh, ding me so that I can move on!psach44 wrote:gbreezy wrote:Sent journal update in early july and confirmed my dean's appraisal was received. Can any admits from this cycle chime in with what they've heard about EIP?

EIP isn't closed. I just called Peter recently and he assured me that they would make every effort to accommodate transfers.

Not particularly reassuring. I can make every effort for something that doesn't work out.Anonymous User wrote:EIP isn't closed. I just called Peter recently and he assured me that they would make every effort to accommodate transfers.

Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
If transfers have to pay $85 to even take a shot, there should be some standard courtesy on behalf of admissions. Delayed status updates and lost documents are unacceptable. Not to mention many of us will probably never hear anything as we begin the next semester at our current institutions.
I understand it's a function of how little they need us and how much we would like to join them, but it's still kind of crappy.

Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
Nah. Disagree. This is not economics. First off, if you want to go that way- the $85 is a fee for a service. That service is being rendered a decision.Anonymous User wrote:Dat supply/demand analysis brother.
Second, it's not about that. It's just about being fair and respectful to people's schedules. Every other school has made major movements each day. Kids have either OCI issues, deposit issues or apartment issues.
Could have been more sensitive to that.

Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
I just called admissions again because I am starting to get very frustrated with the whole process. I know it is a great school and this is kind of the price we pay, but it really is ridiculous. The guy in admissions literally gave me NO information beyond that they "hope to have decisions made by the 2nd week of August." I asked all about OCI and if the deadline for bidding etc was the same for continuing students as for transfers, and he wouldn't even disclose that information. He just said "if you are admitted then career services will reach out to you." I know we are supposed be flexible, but this is just crazy.

Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
Maybe if everyone keeps calling and they get annoyed enough... it will motivate them to let us know! Or at least let the dings know because I mean think about it... 200-300 applications and like 40 spots means there are a good 80% of us waiting for the dingshannonleigh921 wrote:I just called admissions again because I am starting to get very frustrated with the whole process. I know today is a deposit deadline for some admits so let's hope for some movement over the next few days.

Status checker FINALLY shows complete - even though the transcript box isn't checked - though all my docs have been there for almost two weeks.

Idk. On a road trip so I don't feel like checking. Just called this morning and Peter said it was sent out Wednesday. He also says their policy is to send all decisions by mail but I know it's a ding. GL all.lasersgopewpew wrote:Was/is your status checker updated?Transfer13 wrote:Decision letter sent wed.
