Maybe they'll wait and see how many people immediately turn around and send in deposits (or immediately withdraw) and make more calls next week. Bidding for OCI doesn't even start until July 30th (whereas at my current school it ends July 22), so there is still plenty of time before being accepted later puts you at a disadvantage. Tray, of CCN, which do you prefer? I'm hoping you end up at Chicago so you can clue me in on which local bakery is best ;-)

Will you really miss the frigid winters and humid summers of Chicago weather?

Just got a phone call from a 312 area code asking for Evite or Avid, or something of that nature. So whoever you are, congratulations. :(

Wow, that is the suckiest thing ever. You should have been like "This is him. However, I must decline your offer."

You're gonna want to look for 773 area code, not 312. Good luck!

No rejection note but no call yet either. By the way, I don't eat naked goods, just bread. And rolla.

Dude, I don't know. Everyone claims that law review is really important. But this thread seems like a good place to get biased opinions ;-)

Wondering this too. All my factors are the same, except my school's a T30 (not sure how much difference that makes)

As far as I know, law review is mostly important as a signaling device, so you conceivably would still benefit from having made it even if you transfer. It seems like it might be cool to have Chicago on your resume long after you graduate, but who knows if that's true. People who have transferred seem to be pleased with their decision (but then again people who had an opportunity to transfer and didn't are probably fine with it, as well). Region might play an important part in your decision if you're like me and attending a ~t25 school in a region you don't want to be in.

Screw trying to rationally analyze it though, it's U of C man, just transfer!

I would go no questions asked in your situation. The only thing that would have kept me from accepting my non-existent acceptance to Chicago was losing my scholarship.

Same thing here. I wasn't holding out any hope...but it seems like they would send out rejection e-mails all in one batch if they were done. Who knows, not holding my breath.

So just to recap, we have one rejection letter and 0 admits? To the extent you can take anything out of that, maybe they're rejecting, not to be rude, but easy rejects, while still making up their minds on others/seeing what kind of response they get as far as deposits?

Well, for whatever reason, it looks like another day, another psychodrama (for those of us who take this neurotically seriously).

My only guess would be they are waiting to see how many people accept their offers, but have a group of people they held onto in case more people reject them than they are anticipating. That's the only thing I can think of that would make sense if they have already sent out some e-mail rejections.

I don't even think that that's it, that we're on some virtual waitlist. We only have 5 reported acceptances on here. That's less than the number of people on here who say they got in early. And the mix of numbers for people who have heard and haven't is really odd. I think they're just only halfway through for whatever reason. Self-serving as that is.

I hear you and hope you are right. But, there is always a chance they just happened to select more people that don't post on TLS than previous years.

Yes! Hambone! Makes me wish I weren't an ED transfer so I could have a dramatic moment where I decided my fate.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
