Mine changed from Both to PT. It use to say Both, about 12 hours ago. Now it updated my UR to today's date and says PT. I called admissions and they told me it was a computer error, as far as they know. So I am not quite sure what to take of it just yet. I am definitely waiting to tell family and friends- i will tell you that much.selfloathingtransfer wrote:Did "Both" change to "FT" or "PT" if it ever said "Both?"bigred87 wrote:scratch that....app just change to UR 7/13...anyone else?!?!

Mine is still UR 6/11. I'm a pretty level-headed guy but I'm getting a bit agitated.

Xfactor--I hear what you're saying. I know I'm top at my school, and it's gonna be hard if I leave. Unfortunately, I only realized wht my rank was a couple of weeks ago when they were released...I was originally praying to make it into top 5-10%, and didnt realize i was in the Top 1%!! So I applied to Gtown months ago EA, and didnt think any of the other schools were really in my league. Luckily, I applied to NYU as well, and keeping my fingers crossed for that. Otherwise, I may stay at my school, considering I'm meeting with the Dean this week to discuss a full schollie/more scholarship money.
Though the city where my school is located isn't bad, I'm def not a huge fan. I can deal with it, but I really miss the Northeast, and feel as though, yes there's more competition, but there's also more opportunity and a bigger legal market. So IDK what the right answer is...is graduating top of my class at #60 same as graduating somewhere in the middle or decent at a top law school??? This is what I don't know

Ahhh i'm sorry bankhead. I hope it works out for you. I'm keepin my fingers crossed bud. I hope you are right!!! I am just not certain if we have developed a stead fast answer to what it means when status changes from BOTH to PT or FT and an updated UR. Has anyone who has had this happen received a WL or DING? or have they all been acceptances to your knowledge. Thanks again!Bankhead wrote:I'm pretty sure u got in PT. Congrats. Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I don't even know if I was accepted, but those of you still waiting, hang in there. I was talking to my LS roommate last night, and told him that I didn't think I got in to all of these schools cuz their acceptances likely already went out- barring some miracle. I am not sure if this is the miracle I was hoping for. But I think it means that there is hope for everyone. Many of the GULC admits got in to better T14's and used GULC as a backup, and because of that I think many people will be withdrawing and many people will be getting acceptances in the coming week/s.
I spoke to admission with regards to their OCI. They said they realize the end of their OCI bid date was 7/23 and that they are trying very hard to get in all responses before this time. So sit tight colleagues- you may be hearing some good news soon. I wish the best for everyone. And to be honest, getting in to GULC PT scares the crap out of me. Is it easy to xfer to FT after a year, what is required? After my 1L and 3 more years as a PT student I will be in the 200k debt ballpark. A very very very scary figure to face out of law school.
I'm not sure what to make of all of this, and am kinda just rambling on, but I meet with my Dean soon to negotiate schollies- a full ride from my current school (which means minimal debt, probably only 75k) and honors moot court and top 5% is really hard to turn down. BLEH. decisions decision- what sucks most is you won't know if you made the right decision until you look back in hindsight.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I don't have much to offer, but as a part-timer at my current school, I just wanted to point out that PT may be a blessing in disguise. You mention all the debt you would graduate with, but as a PT student, you could grab a job paying 40-60k year (a full time job) while working through school. While this wouldn't cover all of your expenses while in school, it would go a long way and that 200k you were thinking of might be an awful lot less. For what its worth.iheartlaw wrote:I don't even know if I was accepted, but those of you still waiting, hang in there. Couldn't agree more. You could get some money and some good experience. Plus, A LOT of Hill staffers and people like that do PT at GULC. It's common. I doubt you'd feel out of place at all.I don't have much to offer, but as a part-timer at my current school, I just wanted to point out that PT may be a blessing in disguise. I have to say. Its incredibly nice having companions in this emotionally trying transfer process, but these predictions are driving me nuts lol. I was literally holding my breath for the past 20 minutes. I might have to quit TLS forums for a day or so because my nerves can't take so much excitement! lol.
