In the past the rejections have been via letter. WL by email.

Keep the faith, I have a feeling this is the second batch of acceptances after the dust settled and they saw how many takers they had from the first batch.

My apologies, I was under the belief that the rejections were e-mail. Regardless, this is what happened to me two weeks ago, so I am still somewhat skeptical this is an outright batch of dings.thexfactor wrote:In the past the rejections have been via letter. WL by letter.

People have already received rejections this year?

No, I was speaking of the first batch of acceptances.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
But G'Town has a peculiar way of doing business. And i must say, in the EA cycle, when the first batch of DR's came, they DID turn out to be acceptances--yet most of them were clearly in the "auto-admit" category or very close to it. But this time, there is waaay more variation with the DRs, so I doubt that this is pure acceptances.this is what happened to me two weeks ago, so I am still somewhat skeptical this is an outright batch of dings.
P.S. I think "DR" would precede the e-mail.

someone should ask 0Ls who get into GT whether or not when they went decision if their status checker changed to Full or PT.

Not to sound too hopeful, but it is still early in the cycle. From an admissions perspective it would make more sense to send out acceptances first before rejections or waitlists, especially given upcoming OCI deadlines. Just my two cents. Let's see if there are any DRs tomorrow.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
(probably stating the obvious) It looks like they may have made all the EA decisions, whatever they are...hence the mixed numbers of people switching to DR. Looks like the people still UR are the RD applicants like me.

People have referenced the change before as leading to their admission of one program or another. This, however, is not dispositive of the transfer admissions cycle, when time is of the more immediate essence, and administrative matters (such as the changing of a small aspect of the status checker) may take a backseat to prompt decision making.thexfactor wrote:someone should ask 0Ls who get into GT whether or not when they went decision if their status checker changed to Full or PT.

I also am an EA deferred applicant and have not gone DR. Top 45 top 5% - thought I would be a lock, but who knows.

You in this round, Shrimpin?Big Shrimpin wrote:True statement, x...on a side-note, according to prior admits (EA cycle in April, not sure if we have data for recent admits but I'd imagine its similar), and if the intrepid and expeditious postal system is functioning properly, people w/ DC mailing addresses should recieve news in the mail tomorrow (unless an email is coming out tomrrow).

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
ok i looked at some more data from yhoo transfer aps. I think IT IS possible that this round might be mixed. In the past there have been decisions made WL/IN/OUT on the same day.
However hte only thing that does not make sense is that some auto admits do not have a deicion yet.

Perhaps if they were truly "auto-admits," then they would have gone under DR (and been admitted) in the first wave. This wave is probably mixed, but who knows? Just sit tight and wait for email/postal mail to arrive.thexfactor wrote:ok i looked at some more data from yhoo transfer aps. I think IT IS possible that this round might be mixed. Mine has been stuck on Application Received since 6/14. I gave my dean and my LOR writer fedex envelopes, so I know that I was complete as of 6/24 using fedex tracking. Is this an issue? I would have expected my status to show as Application Completed or something along those lines. I'm tempted to call, but I don't want them to associate my name with annoyance.

you do have a point there. However, it is awful hard to argue with butters stats. T40 3%.

It's better than GULC associating your name with "the guy who never bothered to complete his transfer application and was thus promptly denied".Riles246 wrote:Mine has been stuck on Application Received since 6/14. I called and was told they were waiting on my app from LSAC...two minutes after I got off the phone I went from Received to UR.

Argue what? Those are very strong numbers. But if you look at what gulc deigned an "auto-admit," judging by first wave RD admits -- every single one was number 1 or top 1% of their class.thexfactor wrote:you do have a point there. However, it is awful hard to argue with butters stats. T40 3%.

Auto-admits, imo, are first-wave admits. That train has left the station for gulc, so anything goes from here on out.

Thanks! I called and she said that my app is actually under review. What is slightly more disconcerting is that she said "we hope to get all decisions out by the end of the month", but that's most likely just a standard disclaimer so I'll ignore it!transplantedbuckeye wrote:Call.Riles246 wrote:Mine has been stuck on Application Received since 6/14. Update 4:51 pm ... a few minutes after I called it went to "application under review". Thanks again for the tip, although I'm sure it did nothing but to allay my impatience for a bit.
