Hm. Was it an NY school? I figure me as well as other people on UR2/3 recently will be contacted this week because we have similar stats (T25 3.6-3.7 folks)transfer91 wrote:30sDC2NY2x wrote:where about specifically in the T1s? 20s, 30s, 40s?transfer91 wrote:Checking in

Not to scare anyone but:
DLS 7/3.
No call yet and cannot sign into admitted students page. Assuming this bodes poorly.

I think you make it!! It is unlikely that they would ding people such early in the cycle! I am stuck on 7/1 UR3

Lol. I think that is a very poor assumption. I would be optimistic.Anonymous User wrote:Not to scare anyone but:

Yea it seems people around our stats are gonna get decisions this week. Maybe not me cause my school happens to typically have a lot of students applying to transfer to NYU, but i'm thinking you got in because they usually ding people way later esp. with competitive stats like yoursAnonymous User wrote:3.6x at school in 30's. I'm genuinely curious what gives you guys the impression that people w/ certain stats are bound to get decisions this week where others wouldn't?

Re: NYU Law Transfer Thread 2019
Well, I was told by admissions that a decision would come later if many people with similar stats from your school had also applied, as they want to take a certain number from each school. Also, people with super-high stats typically get accepted first, and then NYU will see who accepts/withdraws their app and will let people with less-stellar stats in. But again, similar stats does not necessarily equal similar timelines, because it depends on if people with the same stats from your particular schools have appliedMSUN5 wrote:I'm genuinely curious what gives you guys the impression that people w/ certain stats are bound to get decisions this week where others wouldn't?

Sorry to pester you, but did you go UR yesterday (7/2) or 7/1? Or were you not keeping track?Anonymous User wrote:3.6x at school in 30's. Applied early and went UR a few times, including this morning.DC2NY2x wrote:I am quite scared. Timeline/stats?Anonymous User wrote:Not to scare anyone but:

Re: NYU Law Transfer Thread 2019
Hmmm. Could be. I suppose in my case it seems somewhat unlikely that the two or three people ahead of me at my T1 all applied to NYU--and that it is this which accounts for the delayed timeline. But who knows? Haha. My suspicion so far into this transfer cycle is that transferring is a bit more holistic a review of your credentials than this forum--or Arrow's guide--might have you believe.DC2NY2x wrote:Well, I was told by admissions that a decision would come later if many people with similar stats from your school had also applied, as they want to take a certain number from each school. Obviously, it's hard to know precisely what's in the mind of the admissions officers, but my sense is that some combination of undergrad performance, softs, PS, and regional ties have a much larger impact than one might expect.

Re: NYU Law Transfer Thread 2019
Possibly, but i've known that people with trash softs and no ties to NY get admitted from my school around a 3.5 something, but maybe this cycle is more holistic. Side note, any admits know what their deadlines are to accept admission?MSUN5 wrote:Hmmm. Could be.
