Like that scene where the last Golden Ticket is found in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory but it turns out to be a hoax. Ha ha ha.

God I hope so... I've been reduced to sitting at my desk, staring at my phone. I'm not even attempting to do any work anymore lol

Or in the Family Guy parody where the anchorman had to issue a public apology and retraction. Lol.

I'm a little skeptical that they'd start making calls close to 4pm (when they always do it in the am in years past) just after having said they wouldn't likely do them this week. Maybe it'll end up being legit, just saying

At this point I am 95% sure that the admissions committee has this thread up on a projector and they are just messing with us to watch us freak out...

If I ever work in admissions, I will be sure to do this. It's brilliant.

Think this could qualify as IIED?

*Watch the admissions committee shut the projector off after reading this comment*

The next thing you know, they'll be calling people up so they see "Cambridge, MA" on their phones and then just hanging up. Ha ha ha.

In via phone call!

Best of luck to everyone still waiting. Also, just to let you all know, the Associate Director of Admissions suggested that she would be making several more calls tonight.

Congrats. Not sure it would be an upgrade but congrats.
lol this dude just took a spot from someone who actually needs it. Regardless, congrats!

Thank you! I'm transferring for personal reasons and just as excited as anyone else would be.

Status tracker did not change (or at least hadn't when I checked right after) just FYI. Call was at 3:45. GPA dropped with my last grade but still top ~5% probably (who knows).

Also good luck everyone!!!

Time of phone call? You mean she will be making calls past 5pm today? This is all so strange.

Odd that they would start calling so near the end of the day. Maybe half of the decisions today, half tomorrow? But why not just wait and do them all tomorrow?

4.15 from T30 is correct.

And I received the call at 5:05 ET, and yes, she indicated she had several more calls to make tonight. To be more precise, she stated that she wouldn't be sending me an email to confirm my admission until tomorrow, because she wouldn't have time after making "all these calls tonight."

Ty James ty

I mean, starting at 3, ~10 mins/call, that's already ~20 calls gone out. They had 55 transfers, so maybe 70ish total admits?
