acceptance pattern seemed to be when the status updated because the 3/27ers got in, the 3/28ers got deferred to regular...but some 38ers mentioned also having address changes. confusing!!
but if we have a status change batch tomorrow...
O.O
I can't do work...

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but everything changed for me too and my grades are mediocre, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
Stat: Top 60% from a T2, patent bar eligible (computer science background), WE, etc.

So yeah..., I'd be extremely ecstatic if it were an acceptance...

EDIT: I'M WRONG.

There is one person I found who had an address change but was deferred.

I do not mean to question your assertion, but if you comb through the first five pages you'll notice that, of the folks that mention an address change (boxie, Id15, DeltPreLaw), they later received a letter. boxie and Id15 both received address change and letter. The only other poster that had an address change, DeltPreLaw, didn't post anything after 3/30, so we don't know if he got in or not.

Your link goes to page 6, which concerns regular transfer admissions. Regular transfer admissions has different patterns than EA. For instance, some people get accepted via email. But in no thread concerning EA to GULC, did an EA applicant receive anything other than a letter of acceptance via mail.

Obviously past performance doesn't indicate future results. But just from last year's thread those are the patterns I discerned.
I'm hoping, for once, that correlation = causation

The crucial point is clearly whether anyone did NOT have an address change. So far, it seems the address updates are universal.

EDIT: I'M WRONG.

There is one person I found in last year's thread who had an address change but was deferred. Only one person. All the other deferrals never got their addresses updated at all last year.

EVERYTHING'S ON THE TABLE NOW.

I think it is clear at this point that the address change did not mean acceptance.

Nebby, I agree that the USA change was used for mailing purposes. However, deferral or acceptance there is no rush to get these decisions out. Could this be a new trend of mailing deferrals?

I always thought there would come a time where this would happen. It just seemed odd that GULC would have this system where people could know their decision before being notified. Don't know if by mailing all decisions they are now trying to avoid allowing this to happen.

why would they though?
There's nothing materially affecting them if we find out sooner than later.

I think by Friday we'll see some movement on the actual status checker date.

This is a rush. I want a reason to skip my bluebook exam for LR. :>

I live a mile away from the law school. If something is mailed I should know very quickly.

Edit: Has movement on the status checker always come before decisions are mailed?

Yes. Last year 3/27's updaters, who got acceptances, had the first letters arriving 4/3, with more arriving on 4/4 and 4/5.

You should do the write on at your school anyway for several reasons:

1) There is no guarantee that you will get onto LR at your transfer school
2) Even if you do get onto LR at your transfer school you may not find out until (a) after submitting resume for OCI bidding, or worse, (b) after OCI altogether
3) You may only get onto a secondary journal at your transfer school.

In turn, if you do write onto LR at your 1L school,

1) You will be able to put "Invited to X School LR" on your resume, which is better than (a) no LR at transfer school, (b) haven't heard re: LR at transfer school yet, and (c) secondary journal at transfer school, or
2) You will be able to put "Invited to X School LR" on your resume AND "Invited to transfer school LR".

The benefits are clear: safety, if you don't get on new school LR, and doubly impressive, if you can put both. I don't think it's damning if you don't play it safe, but ITE why wouldn't you play it safe?

Well even though I updated, my requirement list is still present, unlike last year where it was completely removed.
