Under Review Today. I would love a top 10 acceptance, and I could really see myself loving life at Berkeley.
Top 5-10% at a UCLA/Vanderbilt.
Just a question: are some people getting phone calls the day they go under review?
edit: I only have 1 LOR processed

My application just went under review despite the fact one of my LORs is still MIA. Being under review is way more stressful than I remember it being, haha.

Most of us heard about a week later in that first wave.interalia wrote:Under Review Today. I would love a top 10 acceptance, and I could really see myself loving life at Berkeley.

Side question: Why are you transferring? Is it really that important to get into the t10 for you?
Side side question: Although I am incredibly pumped about Berkeley, isn't that a little low for someone with your stats? I would think CCN would be a floor and if you really want Cali, Stanford would be it.

Re: Official UC-Berkeley Transfer Thread
Under review today as well, only one LOR officially processed but I know for a fact that my second LOR went out in the mail last week, so I am hoping that they just received it and failed to update the status checker.
Also: mildly to moderately freaking out.

Good luck to those recently applied. I know a wave of calls went out yesterday so expect another wave in approx 5-8 days based on the timing of the first and second wave.

Re: Official UC-Berkeley Transfer Thread
hate to belabor this point, but since no answers, does anyone know when the confirmation email should be expected or should we just be waiting for the packet at this point (post july 1)?
Hahaha...nevermind. I guess 5:01 CT time today.

Yup. Glad they sent a confirmation in advance of July 1 considering I already booked a flight to go out there just based on the phone callstinger35 wrote:hate to belabor this point, but since no answers, does anyone know when the confirmation email should be expected or should we just be waiting for the packet at this point (post july 1)?

Did everyone's confirmation email include the "with advanced standing" language ? What exactly does that mean? Is it just code for "as a 2L" ?

Yeah, I think that it just means that we are transfers.

Finally went under review today; took forever to get my grades back. Disappointed that I missed the first wave though.

Once the requirements checklist is all checked, how long does it take to go from "received" status to "complete" and then to "under review"?

Went complete yesterday (same day I sent my unofficial transcript) and was under review as of today.coleslaw wrote:Once the requirements checklist is all checked, how long does it take to go from "received" status to "complete" and then to "under review"?

By complete do you mean the status line officially changed to "complete", or just that you had all your requirements checked off?nleefer wrote:Went complete yesterday (same day I sent my unofficial transcript) and was under review as of today.coleslaw wrote:Once the requirements checklist is all checked, how long does it take to go from "received" status to "complete" and then to "under review"?
Wondering because my requirements were all checked off today, but my status still just says "received". Did your status go directly from "received" to "under review"?

Re: Official UC-Berkeley Transfer Thread
As far as I know it went directly from received with all boxes checked to under review. It may have made a brief stop at complete, but I didn't see it.coleslaw wrote:By complete do you mean the status line officially changed to "complete", or just that you had all your requirements checked off?nleefer wrote:Went complete yesterday (same day I sent my unofficial transcript) and was under review as of today.coleslaw wrote:Once the requirements checklist is all checked, how long does it take to go from "received" status to "complete" and then to "under review"?

Re: Official UC-Berkeley Transfer Thread
I'm kind of late to this thread, so sorry if this has been answered before, but will berkeley accept you based on an unofficial transcript/pdf that you email them? Or will they wait until the official transcripts are in? I JUST got my grades and sent them a pdf, but am out of town and won't be able to have my official transcripts sent in for awhile...
Also, for those of you who have been accepted, does berkeley give you a short window of time in which to make your choice? If so, how long?
Another question - for those of you who know how the cycle played out last year, are most offers given early? In small waves? How long is the normal turn around time?
Final question...grades are in. 3.81 first semester, 3.42 second, cumulative: 3.62, which is right outside my t20's school 10% cuttoff of 3.66. I feel I have an ok chance....sound about right?
Thanks, and good luck to everyone.

They will accept you with just a PDF file, at least they did with me. Next, Berkeley hasn't told us when the deadline to respond is. They did say, however, that there will be no deposit and that they rely on our integrity of following through with our commitment. On the phone Dean Tom told me that an official letter would be going out July 1st. So a few weeks after July 1st seems right. As to the other questions, I'm not sure.

Actually, somewhere in all of that admitted students stuff that we could access after the email, it says "Please let us know whether or not you plan to attend by July 15"Journeybound wrote:They will accept you with just a PDF file, at least they did with me. What's up, threw my name into the hat. I sent near the deadline and I'm not under review yet. Based on previous years I'm right around top 5% at a school in the 50s, but my school still hasn't figured out rank or official transcripts yet. Hopefully it doesn't kill me. Best of luck to everyone.

July 15! Okay, by committing do we have to withdraw from all of the other schools that we are applying to?

Committed yesterday and send withdrawal e-mails to my other schools. Pretty pumped up. I know hes lurking these boards and not posting but so far my t4 school has had at least 2 people accepted to Berkeley this cycle, so there is hope for everyone!

Re: Official UC-Berkeley Transfer Thread
Has anyone been getting email acceptances instead of calls yet?
Pretty sure I'm out at this point -- top 5% at a school in the 40's, have been left out of the first two rounds of phone calls (turned my stuff in at beginning of june). I was wondering if there is still any -real- hope for just getting a plain-jane email acceptance, but from this thread, I'm under the impression that they're just calling everyone (despite their repeated communications that acceptances would be by email)
I know a couple classmates from my school who received the calls already, so I'm assuming they're near the quota they'd take from my school.
