Got what seems to be standard response that they make decisions all the way to early August.
So you asked for a expedited decisions and they basically said no?
Lol. Seems like it.

That sucks. I was going to ask the same thing on Thursday or tomorrow.

Any idea when the bidding deadlines are for transfers participating in the EIW?
EIW is scheduled August 10-12, 2016.
They most likely will still be accepting transfers in early August.
Thanks.

Yeah. The response was so long I am sure it was copied and pasted.

Haha. I'm sure they've gotten a million request by now. It seems like they don't give news early in the week and mostly Thursday and Friday.

I am hoping this week because I am already late to GULC OCI process and I will have to start signing leases next week so I don't become homeless at end of month.

Same here. Next week is definitely the latest I can hear back. My deposit at Michigan is also due next week, and their student housing is already full.
But someone got dinged last year on August 3. That's 5 days before transfer orientation.

I was in the same position two years ago and I entered this thread because a friend of mine is transferring this year. I recall going to a leasing office in Arlington on July 28th 2014 because I thought it's not going to happen for me. The moment I signed everything an email popped out: congratulations...

Moving to NY short notice is relatively easy. I signed my lease for my August 1st move on July 18th. I had good luck by searching the postings looking for a roommate on craigslist.

Law School Cert got checked off, but no status update. Looks like they're churning through all the paperwork!

I know this is a stupid question but if your status checker hasn't updated from the first time of review does it mean they have looked at your file just once? So every time they look at your file again the status updates?

Well that sucks. If they have looked at it only once and not admitted me, that sure feels like a bad sign.

I would view it as an indiciation that you're not an autoadmit, if anything at all. Keep your chin up!

Btw, they told me the other day that the latest we here back is mid August. I almost dropped the phone. I told her that I was previously told on multiple occasions that we hear back latest early August, and when I told her transfer orientation is before mid August she just said well that is the latest you would hear back...

UR1 7/1
UR2 7/7
Still no change 7/13
Leaving a record in case I forget.

Honestly, given they suddenly told me mid August maybe they are just overwhelmed with applications. Last year around this time up until the weekend admissions trickled in, so we will see by the end of the week.

NoDayButToday wrote:I have no special insight into their process, but this is the week I heard, last year. I heard the 15th. And I seem to recall maybe the majority people hearing the day before, the same day, and the following few days.
I think most of the schools probably say "by early / mid August" - that's probably just to give themselves something to say when people call asking about their applications more than something most schools adhere to. I have no way of knowing that, but I'm just looking at past trends.
Also a note about date changes to status checkers--something that just occurred to me reading the earlier posts. I wouldn't read into them at all. Even if the dates *do* change whenever someone checks on your application, I think it's problematic to assume that only a single date change indicates only one viewing. What if the person (people?) assigned your file likes to print out their files and read the physical copies before returning to the LSAC portal? Then they could be reviewing your app any number of time but only actually viewing it on the LSAC system once.
Just saying I wouldn't read into status checker changes short of one that says "DLS" - that's relatively unambiguous.
Thank you!

From previous cycles, there has been two or three waves of "Under Review" status update for most of the admits.
I'm curious what's the case for everyone this cycle?
I have 7/1 UR, 7/6 UR, and nothing more until now.

I think we've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter really, but for those interested, I had an update today after 6PM Eastern.

I think people in the admissions office at NYU have been tipped off about TLS and are probably thinking, "let's see who we can fuck with today..." and just decide to randomly update an app with 'status under review.'
