Re: NYU Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
Last year there were two early waves of admits. The first wave on 6/27; the second on 7/3. Looks like those of us that went UR1 today are the second wave.

Re: NYU Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
maybe but I've been UR for over a week.. and acceptances on Tuesday would equate to almost 2 weeks. Last cycle it was under a week turn around from UR to DLS

that's an interesting thought. How do you explain the lack of a gap between ur/3 and dls-today unlike last year?zoomzoom88 wrote:maybe but I've been UR for over a week.. and acceptances on Tuesday would equate to almost 2 weeks. Last cycle it was under a week turn around from UR to DLS

Possibly working faster to compete with Harvard's earlier deadline/timeline
also the first gap last year was due to a weekend, not necessarily necessitated by the office.

I bet that they're in cahoots and will release decisions, together, on Monday.zoomzoom88 wrote: Possibly working faster to compete with Harvard's earlier deadline/timeline

never got my third UR yesterday. Hoping that it means I am on the WL or taking extra time with me. Either way good luck everyone and have a great weekend!

do you mind sharing your stats? I don't think it means much if you didnt get the update.. TLS just reads into every possible update. I am sure it will work out very well for youbertmacklin wrote:never got my third UR yesterday. Hoping that it means I am on the WL or taking extra time with me. Re: NYU Transfer Waiting Thread 2014
Hey guys! I'm planning on submitting my application to NYU (along with Columbia) today and I just had a couple questions:
(1) This is the obligatory "what are my chances" question: I am no. 3 (top 1.8%) in my class; school is in the 40-50 range; moot court; dean's list both semesters; two book awards; math undergrad; a sizable amount of community service; two years work in a law firm prior to law school; and this summer I'm interning as a research assistant for a professor and doing pro bono at the local PDs.
(2) I know Columbia only needs two LoR, but I have four I could possibly send them (two from last semester's professors—including my LWR professor—and two from this semester's professors). What do you guys think?
(3) Also, does anyone think that I'll get dinged for applying so late?
Thanks for the help! I made an almost identical post on the Columbia transfer thread, so for anyone on there too...I'm sorry for the redundancy!

Anyway, can you call CLS and HLS for me, too? You seem to have a good repertoire with admissions people.

I wonder if we'd possibly get two waves of early admits next week to stay (roughly) in line with last year. Maybe Monday/Thursday?zoomzoom88 wrote:haha i just spoke to admissions no decisions today.. early next week they saidyou win
